Well, at least they're consistent with the R2 "headsculpt" being a bit off. We've gotten Richard Hatch as Han, Tom Cruise as Luke, a whistling gorilla as Chewy, and the guy I always see reading a newspaper at my Starbucks as Ben.
The HT Leia would seem a little out of place with the cast of Battle Beyond the Stars next to her, but thankfully they are in their SW outfits, so you can tell who they are supposed to be.

Sober for the first time since the Jnix Solo sculpt got here. Feels great, man - like seeing 1/6 for the first time.
If he nails Ben and Luke, does another run of Han, maybe you can get in on the twelve steps too.

Nice video! First detailed look at 3PO.
A detail of the HT 3PO's fat pistons vs. screen accurate (both arms around same size)...
And what's with the weird knurled garden hose fitting they used for 3PO's neck ring? And the watch winders used for the neck "wheels"? On the costume, both have a pretty much invisible fine texturing that HT has increased to look like diamond plate.

Good picture bro! I'm outside of STGCC right now resting, lol. It's a great show and the HT booth was pretty cool In my opinion. It seems that TFA Han & Chewie will be coming out soon (sorry if this feels like I'm hijacking the thread) and seeing Han in person makes me think that if it's released by the end of the year it will be best headsculpt of 2016.

Really wish they'd show Han without the parka. I'd guess the majority of collectors are going to display him with his smuggler outfit. I'll display him with the leather coat when we first get him in hand, and then change it up to the parka after a few weeks/months/never. I'm happy Hot Toys is including more accessories but show us his other look.
Edit: on topic, I think R2 looks amazing. Threepio isn't what I pictured a Hot Toys C3P-0 looking like but I guess it's a pretty good TFA depiction. He definitely looked different from what I remember and not in a good way. Headsculpt looks pretty good but body proportions make it look like a slightly "heavier" Anthony Daniels in a metal suit. I'll take it though as I've never really been happy with my Sideshow figure.

R2's dome is a bit like a lot of HT's headsculpts - the likeness is a bit off, but it's hidden by the incredibly realistic finish. The real metal dome looks stellar, and the weathering just perfect, but the actual sculpt of the parts of R2's "face" is a little off. And we know these characters so well that even minor inaccuracies make it feel like something's just a tad "off."
But as with all criticism of HT headsculpts, prepare for outrage and indignation for pointing it out. There's a "one and done" perception with HT that's not really backed up by the reality of many of their SW heads. It takes stuff like the Jnix Han sculpt to prove it - that showed just how underwhelming the HT Han sculpt really was; gorgeously lifelike, but mediocre on likeness overall.
Yeah, we really need some pics of Han without that coat - not sure why this keeps happening.
And yeah - 3PO in TFA did look heavier and "different", so I guess it's a credit to HT that they were able to accurately capture that.
As a side note, that TFA CHewy looks really bad in these pics - almost Hasbro bad. I do love their ANH version of Chewy, but I hope at some point they do an all-new headsculpt for their Chewy because neither ANH nor TFA heads look very good up close.

Really interested to see. I'm hoping they will have made some tweaks to the released figure.
The displayed TFA fig currently looks like it will need many of the same mods the ANH Chewy needed because the head's pretty much the same other than the articulated jaw, whereas it would have been cool if they'd tried an all-new head for the TFA Chewy.
