So you can just return the part and they will exchange it for another part? I thought you had to destroy the part and show them that it was destroyed before they will send you a replacement.

I think they send the part to you first, then you provide the photo evidence otherwise they charge you. Imagine if the replacement part is worse than the original.

Thanks for answering my question Phoenix and I hope your right, but Sideshow told me once before that I had to destroy the part or return it FIRST before they would send me a replacement. Which I think stinks because like you said what if the replacement part is worse than the original you sent to them. My head is not that noticeable to me on display but since it is damaged, it will be hard to sell, if I decide to sell the statue later on. Thus, it just doesn't seem worth it to send it back or destroy it in hopes their replacement part will be better. :(

Has anyone here had a replacement before if so what is Sideshow's policy?

True, but even the RRP in US dollars is quite high considering it is nearly $500.

It cost me $640 AUD with the 10% off discount code.

May I ask why do you get 10% off everything, Popcultcha is charging $800 for this now. I would have also bought mine from Popcultcha if I didn't care about the EX light up head.

Really that long? I didn't think they were that far behind.

I checked mine again, it isn't just paint issues, the nose tip has been chipped off. This is the last time I will buy a Sideshow piece blindly, it is just not worth it, even if it is an EX. :thud:

How did it cost you only $640 AUD. I thought it would be at least (469.99*90%+$106.22 for delivery)/0.77(at best) * 1.03 (currency translation rate) = $707.91.

And previously I used to accumulate my Popcultcha pennies, and utilise the 10% option on multiple items. Think once there were like 10 statues/Hot Toys on one order. But now because I'm classified as a VIP customer I automatically get 10%. Though using pennies efficiently may result in slightly better savings when using the $50 option, I no longer have to wait to accumulate points before placing orders.

And I have no idea why their shipments are so delayed for alot of pieces. It's like just because we are downunder things have a tendency to get delayed.

You need to destroy the old one and send pics within five days after you receive the replacement and are satisfied with the replacement. If the replacement is bad they'll either send you another one or tell you to keep the one with less damage and take credit or you can return the whole statue for a full refund.

I picked up a regular version at my comic shop, love it! I did a review on it on my YouTube channel if you guys and gals want to check it out!

Does anyone here know this person acastro129, and have successfully completed a sale transaction with him? I'm looking for some help as I have not received a reply from him since 8/25.

https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/members/acastro129/

Thanks everyone

I'd give him another week and then file a claim.

I sent as friends as family due to his positive feedback, and long time membership here. I have no problem waiting for him to ship the Statue, but to break communication since 8/25 makes me a little uncomfortable. Even if he can send me a simple message stating he's having family issues with his new born baby I would be perfectly fine with that.

If anyone here knows him personally, and can get a hold of him please let me know.

Thank you for your time.

Hey Nuri,

Thanks Bro, I have also been keeping an eye on this on day one but was not going to buy it unless I had confirmation that the EX head lit up.

Fair enough mate. Personally I don't care for light-up features anyway as I'd never use them, but it's a nice to have I guess. I'd always display the regular head anyway.

Well I plan on selling mine.

I always liked the Hot Toys figure, love the faceplates, but posing it was always a challenge with that base.

Ahh the pose, at first it didn't bother me but now it does, have not put on the cape yet, just watched a video where a guy shows you how to do it so I will get to it soon.

What don't you like about it? To be honest it put me off in pictures when I started to see in-hand pics pop up, but it looks better in some of the recent shots. Looks really good from the side, but looks a bit off from an angle.

Yeah it is expensive, I used that trick you do with Internet Explorer to get the 10% off discount code, so that got the price down a little and ended up being the exact amount for the NRD. Nevertheless, it still cost over $600 Australian dollars!

Is that where you add it to your cart and leave it there for a while? I might try that and use my reward points if I do end up getting it. You getting Joker to go with it?

By the way, sorry to hear about your QC issues. If it makes you feel any better, I always found Sideshow's CS for parts to be pretty good. They usually send a replacement no questions asked and it arrives pretty quick. You inspect the replacement and if you're happy with it, you smash the old one and send them photos of it.

Only annoying thing I've found in the past is that sometimes the replacements they've sent me were sh-t also, lol, so they don't always do a good job of checking them.

You are right I looked at my statement again and I didn't count the first charge, which was $61.95 AUD for the NRD.:slap So adding that to the second charge of $643.98 for the final payment ended up costing me $705.93 AUD.

Man that is so awesome congrats on doing that! I never knew you could do that and become a VIP customer and the pennies program has only been around for couple of years to. You must of went through a lot of items to get to that status in just a few year years. Well Done bro! :clap

And I have no idea why their shipments are so delayed for alot of pieces. It's like just because we are downunder things have a tendency to get delayed.

Well in the past we have got somethings before the US like Blitzway Bruce Lee statues.

You need to destroy the old one and send pics within five days after you receive the replacement and are satisfied with the replacement. If the replacement is bad they'll either send you another one or tell you to keep the one with less damage and take credit or you can return the whole statue for a full refund.

:goodpost:

Thanks so much for confirming those details Burning rage, you don't know how much of a weight has been lifted off my shoulders because I really didn't want to send back the head or destroy it for that matter without having the replacement. Looks like people on Live chat don't know what they are talking about then because they told me I had to destroy the head first before I could get a replacement.

I'm starting to think if I should contact SS about my cape. Does anyone elses cape have spots where the wire shows? I figured I would just add a little glue but am a little hesitant that I'll mess it up somehow. Any thoughts on fixing it? Glue gun?

I would email them first before trying to fix something.

Oh for most of the time I would to but at night time I like the idea of switching head sculpts and having the sonar head displayed briefly. Just like how I turn the lights on my Iron Man statue on briefly at night. I know at the end of the day it is pretty much a gimmick but I just like to have that option.

I always liked the Hot Toys figure, love the faceplates, but posing it was always a challenge with that base.

Oh don't get me wrong I think the Hot Toys figure is still an amazing a figure and when displayed on the shelf the sculpt beats Sideshow's one hands down not only in the likeness but realism as well. It's just that up close the sculpt looks too toyish for my taste, I can tell the eyes are plastic and the face plates are to.

However, like I said before my biggest problem with it is that the armor parts on the suit become more obvious that they are rubber when the 1/6th suit is blown up to 1/4 scale, thus making the overall figure look too toyish for my taste.

What don't you like about it? To be honest it put me off in pictures when I started to see in-hand pics pop up, but it looks better in some of the recent shots.

I don't know, I think maybe they should have gone for him standing and holding his grapple gun or something. I feel the pose is just too Dynamic and only really looks good on the profile.

Looks really good from the side, but looks a bit off from an angle.

:exactly:

I think this pose was made with the intention of displaying him against the Joker, thus it is a two figure diorama pose and not something that shrines solo.

Is that where you add it to your cart and leave it there for a while?

I might try that and use my reward points if I do end up getting it.

Yeah something like that, I remember I tried it a few months ago when it was first suggested and only got the 5% discount no matter how many times I tried it. But I tried it again two weeks ago and cleared my cookies just like I did last time and added it to my cart and waited for the 5% discount to show up. I was stoked when the 10% discount showed up instead of the 5% and that is when I went ahead and ordered it.

You getting Joker to go with it?

At this stage I plan to, because despite how I feel about the horrible likeness of the sculpt, I like pretty much everything else about the Joker PF.

Now that, I have no problem doing. :wink1:

TBH I wouldn't be surprized if they didn't check them at all.

I just emailed them, heres what it looks like, theres about 3-4 spots like this..

Got mine today.. glad to say I have no QC issues with this piece.. paint looks great, face/cowl lines are straight ..my only gripe would be with the cape, theres a few spots where the wire tucks behind the fabric that are exposed ..nothing major and an easy fix. It looks like they have the flap glued maybe? ..doesn't look sewed. Overall I'd give the statue a 90% on my QC scale. One interesting thing that I noticed is my belt moves, I know some said its attached to the waist.. when I opened him I noticed the left side of the belt was able to move but the right side was stuck.. I gave it a little wiggle and now the whole belt moves.. I think its positioned fine where it is but I know some felt that the belt was a little too high.. so give it a wiggle and it should free up, might just be stuck when it was painted.

As mentioned we already have some great pics but here's mine. And btw he is in no way under scale, looking at the previous pics I was a little concerned but after unboxing him he fits right in with all my other pieces. I have him near the Wonder Woman PF and he looks spot on.. yes WW is taller cause of her base but physically the DK is bigger.

As with all pieces, its much more impressive in person. (dont mind the cape, didnt position it good until after the photos)

Congrats, bud. The pics look terrific.

I'll mess around with my belt when I get him back out of the box. Can you get the belt to sit in the divots above his... Um... Jock? I believe that's where it was originally supposed to be seated.

No, thats going too low.. belt is too tight.. it has some play to it but not much. I can get it to slide a little left / right and a little up / down but thats about it.. not enough to jump over his jock lol.

I was just looking at some screen shots from the movie and I see it should be lower but I think its perfect where it is on this statue. To be honest Im not even sure if its supposed to be moveable, I just noticed mine was.. not sure about everyone else. After i noticed the left side was moving I was a little nervous trying to get the right side to move.. I thought maybe I would crack the paint.. but i gave it a few light wiggles and it came loose. Looking under the belt, the statue is painted all around and there doesnt appear to be any damage from shifting the belt loose. The only thing is that theres a little gold paint line if I move the belt down too low.. looks like the belt was painted while on the statue or perhaps painted separate and some gold rubbed off onto the body while drying ..so moving the belt from where it was previously positioned shows some rub.. not terrible but something to keep in mind if you decide to move the belt.

Personally I dont think the belt is glued on, I think its just stuck in place from when the two parts were painted and then attached while still somewhat curing creating some friction. Either way be careful, Id imagine the paint could possibly crack if it was sealed too tight.

Sideshow is sending me a new cape.. very easy to deal with this time around ..could be because I got the same rep as the one I used two weeks ago for another issue I had on a previous statue. No questions asked, no refunds/partial credits offered like they usually try to push.. just a message saying a new cape is on the way

Got mine this week, number 6 which I was pretty pumped about! It's a nice statue, very pleased with it

Mine has zero issues but the cape is way too big.

Don't know what it is with sideshow and large capes/hoods.
