Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

Are you guys sure that your ankles aren't stuck? My BD has pretty damn good ankle pivot. I have him posed in a wide-ish stance now and both feet can sit flat on the ground naturally

Hmm, will have to check my Robo out, not been in my collection room for a while and not handled my Robo fig in months.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

i didn't check it yet, too. didn't want to disturb the poses. will check on the unboxed one for sure before posing him.

Picked up solo fig from Popcultcha for $228 shipped. Look forward to having this guy back.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

that light sure fits him.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

Thanks boys :hi5:

It's a great piece that I really need to spend more time with. I set him & Murphy up a long while back, and never touched them since. Gotta get around to delving in and repose them both

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

so i unboxed my unboxed figure and can confirm, too - legs have that weird ankle movement, same as on intact Robocop :)

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

by the way: helmet doesn't look same weathered as armor does. it's a lot shinier. like on a toy with exchanged heads. so it's not a problem.

Love love love the figure....
But I do wish they included the drill and metal mirror.

Yes - The drill! That would have been a cool accessory! That was one of my favorite scenes from the whole movie. I see they're priced around $10 on eBay although you would need to paint it black.

Got mine in from Popcultcha yesterday. One of HT finest.

I'm pretty sure I know what the answer to my question will be before I even ask it (especially since I'm in this thread). Anyway, I'm looking to buy ONE Robocop for my collection. I can get the BD brand-new, shipped, for $257. I'm thinking about it; my only reservation is I kind of wanted the helmeted look, even though the head sculpt on this is so spot-on. I know I can eventually find a battle-damaged helmet head on eBay, but I think those sell for more than what I would want to pay.

I like the paint apps and detailing quite a bit on the BD vs. the bright shiny paint on the diecast Robo.

What do you guys suggest? If you could only have one Robo, which would it be? Should I go for this one, even though it doesn't have the BD helmet?

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

you want to buy one, while only both cover both aspects of robocop.
key word is "aspect". robocop is a character that shows both man and machine, either variant will be incomplete without its counterpart.
then again, the less you buy, the more left for others, so don't buy any :)
also i have several BD helmets i don't need, such a pity i cannot just sell them.

I've been struggling with this exact question myself lol

It would be nice to have both versions. Unfortunately, space and funds are not unlimited for me. I'm cooking up a RoboCop vs. Terminator, Alien vs. Predator display in my collection. I was set to get the clean Robo, but I came across the BD at a discount, so now I'm contemplating.

The clean Robo is "core", or baseline RoboCop, if you will, and stands on it's own. I think I see the BD more as a complement to that.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

I have both and it is difficult for me to decide which I'd prefer to keep. I decided to keep my BD version because I bought the 2 pack version with Murphy in cop uniform. If I didn't have to down size (just moved into a smaller house with less display room), I'd be keeping both. So I'm now selling my original with mech chair. Being a retired cop, I prefer the uniformed Murphy option for display, too :dunno

well, in that case you should get the "clean" one, of course. i think same way. if i was given a choice like that, i'd get only "base" robocop, no matter how beautiful the BD one is, he is incomplete.
but best of all collect money for both versions.
