Wouldn't it be great to buy them all now at a discount, then once the movie lands, and kids love it, there's no toys to be found, as I will have bought them all at 50% off. . . I'll be rich!!!

It will be very interesting to see if the toys will be restocked and or have the prices go up now the movie seems to be getting decent reviews.

I am sure demand will now go up.

Went to see Ghostbsuters last night. It's a good movie. It lacks the edge of the original but then comedies in the 80's did all have a certain adult edge to them which modern comedies do no have. But it is a Ghostbusters movie and it feels like Ghostbusters. I am someone who also love the Real Ghostbusters cartoon (first few seasons anyways) so if you are like me then I think you will love it.

Eitherway, I do hope some have been proved wrong. Though in the modern online world of keyboard warriors, if anyone was proved wrong, they ain't going to admit to are they?! :)

Most the time I doubt people'd even know.
My biggest issue is Melissa McCarthy...just not a fan of her at all and I have no desire to see any movie she is associated with. I agree with Eamon though that it isn't going to stain the franchise. The original Ghostbusters movie will always be one of the greatest comedies made IMO...nothing can change that.
wtf, it's a comedy? I put Ghostbusters in my horror collection coz you know, the ghosts...

Do you have the audacity to challenge the authority of the Freaks?:horror

It's crazy the amount of intolerance coming from both ends of the spectrum regarding this movie... Personally, I'm not interested so I'll pass... As for figures, waiting on the 1/6 Blitzway ones!

If nothing else, the media presence has given us a wider variety of GB toys than I would have ever imagined. To think - 1/6 high end, 1/12 high end, Diamond Select, Matty re-releases, and LEGO (including the freaking Firehouse). Pretty amazing for a non-superhero movie that's 30+ years old.

Folks trashed this movie because it had women, then it was trashed due to a trailer and now the actors are getting seriously offending crap slung at them with the latest being Leslie getting racist remarks.

Sorry but to say that there is a "crazy the amount of intolerance coming from both sides" is just ludicrous.

It's very much one sided and that side is full of hate, sexism and racism.

It's an unfortunate result of the era we live in with twitter, social media, etc. that people can say hateful, sexist and racist things and then hide behind screen names and avatars.

I haven't seen the movie yet, I'll admit I was underwhelmed by the first trailer, kind of had the same reaction as that youtube video of Stay Puft watching the trailer, started out ok hearing the music and seeing the logo but then it was like uhhhhh. I still intend to see it in the next couple of weeks though because I can't stand the types of people who hate on something so blindly without having justification for it.

My local Target had all four of the new Ghostbusters figures in the BAF line, but right after the movie came out all of them except for Melissa McCarthy & Kristen Wiig were sold out. I was hoping to pick up all four when the prices dropped again. :gah:

Yeah, people scooped them up from the two Targets near me. I saw one Mcarthy figure and a ghost (reddish color).

I would't be surprised if the completist bug got to even collectors who were on the fence once the prices dropped.

I wish I would've picked them up sooner, or at least hid them. This is wishful thinking, but maybe they'll reissue them? :dunno

Holtzmann and Patty seem to have completely vanished at every store I go to.

Toys R Us here has all of them, and Walmart. But they are regular price. I think TRU did a sale but not sure if it's still going.

One of my local Targets didn't even have a Ghostbusters isle. All they had was one Erin Gilbert and nothing else.

So...target pissed me off today. I've seen these new ghostbusters on clearance for several weeks there. I saw the movie and decided to buy an Jillian Holtzman as she was my fave of the movie. Someone had gone in and pealsed the clearance stickers off of ALL of the Ghostbusters merch. And it was obvious too, there pieces of the clearance tags still on every figure. So I picked up a jillian brought it to an target worker and was told they are not on clearance. I explained to her the tag situation and how i'd seen them on clearance for the past few weeks. She thought it was just THAT character or certain ones. I told her they were ALL like this. She got mad and was like,"well, I guess they told us to put them back to regular price". WTF happened? My hypothesis is that the toys weren't moving so everybody put them on clearance, then the movie came out, they sold and everybody put them back up to regular price? WTF? Has this ever happened before? I mean, they weren't on sale they were on CLEARANCE. This seems unprecedented.

Same thing happened at the Target I saw them on clearance at. Went back and the stickers were peeled off with the residue still on the clam shell.
