I'm still gaming at 60Hz :lol. Btw, thanks to everyone who recommend nowinstock.com. I'm still waiting for the partner cards to go in stock at Amazon...

I agree. I love my ASUS ROG Swift PQ348Q monitor and most games now are offering decent support for 21:9. I've been really enjoying Crysis 3 That game still looks gorgeous considering it came out in 2013.

Yeah. The Arkham trilogy really benefits from that added ultra wide, 21:9 support. It's mind blowing how great Arkham Asylum looks with the added "sides".

I'm waiting a little while to see how these cards perform in DCS: World. If the 1070 proves as impressive as I hope then I'll go for that and save a bit of money. The age old issue of $=£ really makes the higher end cards a hard purchase over here. We pay about 50% more as usual and it just sucks...

Errgh, the dreaded letters.. I do need an upgrade however. My superclocked EVGA GTX680 has been admirable up until now. But with DCS receiving a brand new game engine that uses the GPU more than CPU (as opposed to the other way around before) I think the 1070 will be money well spent if it will let me get the best out of it.

What resolution and settings were you playing on your 680 SC? I had dual 780s in SLI that were really struggling in some games, even at 1080p. They seemed to have gotten slightly better in performance with the driver update from last month, but the 3GB VRAM was starting to become a big limiting factor. I got rid of them pretty fast after the Nvidia press conference last month.

The 1070 definitely seems like a good card if you want to save some money over a 1080.

1920x1080, it hasn't really struggled with anything I play, I'm using it in conjunction with an I7 3770k at 4.4Ghz and 8gb of Corsair Xms 3 ram. I'm thinking I'll double the ram and get whichever card suits my needs best, I plan to go up to higher resolutions and eventually get a vive also so I'll need something. I'm in no rush however, I'm happy to sit back until all of the cards are tried and tested.

I just got a 3440 x 1440 LG monitor for $600, IMO a great deal for the money. I'll just sell the 2560 I have now.

I was about to get the ASUS predator, but it really isn't 4K and for the price, I think it should be. I'll just wait until 4K is actually a thing.

Edited as I found my answer.

Everyone I know wears glasses, though :lol.

Not because they sat close to the tv though. You're right though, the human eye sucks. It goes to hell so fast. I'm still glasses-free, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. I remember reading every article I could on VR for years and it seemed like every person writing the article talked about their glasses. I started to think I was the only person over 30 who didn't wear them.

The 1080 over the 980 is a decent upgrade though

QFT. It's amazing how Arkham Knight looks completely maxed out as well as Rise of the Tomb Raider on my new monitor.

Makes me wish AK turned out better than it did. Still a graphic powerhouse though.

And Konami still won't update MGSV with 21:9 support, you have to mod the file settings but still, some sort of official update would be nice. And while they are at it, they can fix the game. Some SP DLC would be nice, hell, some sort of ending.
