Fantastic review!

I must get it. I have no room. Has that stopped you before? I already have the big chap. See last question.

That's a tricky question. I've been in a phase the last couple years where, if I feel I wouldn't miss one of my collectibles if I sold it, I sell it. So space is not quite at a premium for me. This also mean I may not be the best person to ask since I tend to sell anything that feels redundant or simply "okay." And my feelings for most of my stuff have changed over the years.

With that in mind, if I feel strongly enough about a new piece, I'd find a way to make room (whether it means selling something older or carving out a new spot).

Wonderful rewiew blade!!I have just woken up and it is the first think Idid...lol. Thank you very much!!

I would like to see more pictures about its face because I want to see the differences between this guy and the hot toys one:) like this, it looks stunning but I want to see much more the details:)

Wonder if NECA will keep the big reveals to a minimum till SDCC or they may let one slip to keep the momentum going ? Anyone else think they may announce a big name likeness before SDCC or be keeping a lot more surprises under wraps till then ?

I was actually talking to myself in that post. LOL. (Trying to be funny)

It's the age old issue. You want it. You don't have space. Or you might only want the definitive piece for a particular film. But it doesn't stop you from getting "just one more!"

And outstanding reviews like yours doesn't help in "I like it but don't NEED it" mindset!

I think and hope they will announce the dog 1/4:)

I hope they announce the dog alien and maybe a larger scale royal facehugger with all those paint apps they showed off in the original reveal earlier in the year. I know we are getting the small versions in the figure pack next year, but it would be cool to get some bigger sized Alien 3 items.

I also reckon they may show off the Newborn and another marine, possibly either Drake or even Dietrich. Having a medic on the team would be cool and a nice shake up of the usual gunners and soldier types.

We will see! I will wait to buy the 1/4 warrior until they announce the dog;)

The pose I'm using:

Can you make pics of the inner jaw and with closed mouth?

It's a shame the 1/4 Big Chap was painted the way it was. Brown is certainly not its color. Not sure why they didn't go with the metallic grays of the black Genocide 7".
I just picked up the 7" reissued Big Chap Xenomorph (which has a similar brown paint scheme) that comes in window box packaging. Regardless of what the original suit looked like, I much prefer the black w/dark grey wash look of the original Series 2 figure. The dome on the window box version is the only notable improvement for me, as the shading on the edges doesn't look as cheap. However, the more opaque quality makes it harder to see the skull underneath -- which is something I loved about the Series 2 version. The upper teeth are also longer on the updated figure, but the inner-mouth is painted off-white and lacks a wash to bring out the sculpt details. I thought this might have been an oversight at the factory, but it appears (at least from YouTube reviews) all the mouths on the window box version are painted this way. It looks unfinished to me.

I know NECA has received a lot of flack for their perceived lack of quality control, but I never experienced it firsthand until this week. The first reissued 7" Big Chap I picked up had no silver paint on the bottom row of teeth. The second one (which I bought) has missing fingernails on the right hand, which I didn't notice until I got home. I also bought the Ultimate T-1000 figure at the same time and just realized it's missing the gun holster, so it looks like I'll be returning both figures if I can't get NECA to assist. I'll try to exchange the T-1000, but doubt I'll bother tracking down another window box Big Chap. Despite the added details, I still think I prefer the Series 2 version.

Thanks for the review, Blade. I've missed your videos, but I'm glad you're doing well. Regarding the warrior - I can't bring myself to pull the trigger on this guy (Mostly due to space issues). He does look pretty awesome in that pose, though. I think I'm holding out for a 1/4 Dog Alien, but we'll see.

Could I ask what are the stands you are using to hold up the figure....and are they slightly weighted?

Thanks for the kind words, folks. I'll take a few photos of the figure from my shelf with the mouth closed. Unfortunately I can't seem to get the inner jaw to extend. May need to use tweezers for that, though I hope I don't damage the paint by doing so.

The stand I'm using is a Kaiser doll stand for 18" pieces. It's metal and has some heft to it, but not enough for a piece this heavy. That and the wire bit sticks out of the stand a little further than I'd like, due to the figure's 22" height. You may have better luck with the next size up.

Thanks blade! We are all waiting for them. Don't worry about the inner jaw...i believe it is the same mechanism than with the big chap...(no mechanism at all, ypu have to take off manually)
