Re: Prime 1 Studio - Dawn of Justice- Wonder Woman Statue

I am not diving into 1/2 scale ever... (but if I did it would probably be for Star Wars :lol ) This is very tempting. I think people are going to be blown away by this piece in person and I am sure I'll be jealous when the in hand pics start rolling.

Re: Prime 1 Studio - Dawn of Justice- Wonder Woman Statue

Prime 1 singlehandedly has thrust me into the 1/2 scale game. I want showstoppers in my collection and prime 1 seems to be delivering.

Re: Prime 1 Studio - Dawn of Justice- Wonder Woman Statue

Saying a digital print from a 3d scan data is not accurate? It will be far more accurate than you eyes.

Yes because a lot of 3D scan faces printed sculpts are still not 100% accurate. From what I recall, Adam even had to tweak the Cavill sculpt after it was printed out because it wasn't 100% accurate. Maybe this is because something gets lost during the printing process :dunno.

There is no real debate about this, although I still think it looks like her, the fact is most people agree it is not dead on like the Cavill sculpt. Are you saying the majority of people are wrong because it has to be 100% accurate since it is a 3D printed Scan?

All those reference photos are from different lighting environments, different focus length, different angles, different stage of the actress, basically not very useful at all.

So the one on the left has a very narrow cheekbone and the nose is too long obvious, and the worse thing is, the eyes are way too separated from each other!

While I agree with your point, the cause of these discrepancies is due to the different angles the sculpt has been taken on. In the second pic the sculpt looks wider because more of the side of it is showing. Nevertheless, the bone structure looks the same as it is prominent in both photos, al be it, looks more prominent in the second photo, due to shadows. Regardless, the cheek bones still stick out in both pictures and thus, the outline of the sculpt looks like the same shape. Whereas the Wonder Woman sculpt just looks flat with an oval face instead of the diamond shape one that Gal Gadot has, which is caused by her high prominent cheek bones and pointy narrow chin.

The length of the nose is not the issue with the Wonder Woman sculpt but the shape of the nose and nostrils, and that will not change regardless of lighting.

The best way I can describe this statue is it looks like an amazingly hot wonder woman lookalike in the world's best cosplay outfit. Not dead on Gadot but close enough. As companies get better and better at their processes, we approach an uncanny valley situation like in CGI. It looks so good that it's no longer a stylistic interpretation of an actor, it's trying for perfection, therefore when compared to the real thing it's gonna seem a little unnatural. It is a great time to be a collector/adult child and I look forward to seeing how this turns out!

Re: Prime 1 Studio - Dawn of Justice- Wonder Woman Statue

Chronicle old T800 has one of the best likeness of all Arnie figure/statue.
I can find tons of pics of Gal on Google which show she even has a square face no mention oval shape, but you're talking about diamond shape.
The flatness mostly causes by material take a look at CM T850, the most accurate Arnold T3 face but it's so hard to take a photo and to see the dead on likeness of him.
Adam's tweak will likely be only add skin details and minor shape, definitely no big change. And that's a very common way to deal with print nowadays.
I don't care about majority, majority think hottoys's head sculpt is awesome while I strongly disagree.

A diamond shape face is the face that has high cheek bones with a narrow pointy chin. This is what Gal Gadot has.

Look at these pics.

The characteristics of a square face:

Forehead, cheekbones and jawline are the same width
A squared jawline.

Angelina Jolie is an example of someone with a square shape face.

U might think Gal has a square face because she does have a defined jawline but it isn't square, it is just defined.

Yet the the Cavill sculpt shows no flatness at all and it's made out of the same material as the Wonder Woman one. I have never had a problem with the likeness on the CM T850, I always thought it was pretty much dead on, going from pics and videos. Which I find ironic, since the likeness on most of the CM statues are totally off.

R U sure the majority think that? Regardless you are missing the point, if the majority think the Cavill sculpt is dead on, which looks like it is, then why don' think they think this one is to? Anyway, I don't want to argue about this anymore, believe what you want to believe, it's obvious to me and many others that the likeness is off, but the MOS one isn't. I don't know why you think just because it is a 3D scan printed sculpt means it has perfect likeness, when it clearly it looks like it doesn't.

Arguing the likeness of a scan head... the best way to waste time.
One photo destroys all diamond shapes.

Stop being deceived by those photos took with camera trick and perfect selfie angle.
I'm out here, not a fan of this character in the movie neither the actress herself. Just tell some truth.

No it doesn't, that looks like a diamond shape face, look at the angle of the jawline and the chin shape is not square but kind of round and pointy, this is because the jawline gets narrower as it reaches the chin. However, arguing over this is a waste of time, like I said believe what you want to believe I am done discussing this.

Diamond or square face shapes doesn't matter still doesn't look like gal gadot to me so just going to wait for prime 1 to do some major reshaping on the face sculpt. Just hoping those changes will be made in time to show off at SDCC and ready for preorder time.

Yes and that's why I wanted to end the discussion because whatever her actual face shape is, Prime got it wrong, so arguing over if it is square or diamond is not important.

Just hoping those changes will be made in time to show off at SDCC and ready for preorder time.

I hope so to and your comparison pics prove that the likeness is off, despite that this is a 3D scan of her face. Something obviously went wrong when they produced it.

Sometimes I wonder what the real Gal Gadot would think if she would read this :) I think she will be scared of how manytimes we posted her face on this topic haha:lol

Hardcore collector. :lol

Re: Prime 1 Studio - Dawn of Justice- Wonder Woman Statue

Her likeness definitely isn't on par with Cavill's. Not by a long mile.

Re: Prime 1 Studio - Dawn of Justice- Wonder Woman Statue

That superman is the best statue likeness I've ever seen

Re: Prime 1 Studio - Dawn of Justice- Wonder Woman Statue

Wow the paint job on Cavill looks better than I thought.

Her likeness definitely isn't on par with Cavill's. Not by a long mile.

But it has to be Shoo, because it is suppose to be a 3D scan of her face and we all know it is impossible for anything to go wrong when 3D sculpts are printed out. :rolleyes2

Re: Prime 1 Studio - Dawn of Justice- Wonder Woman Statue

It actually looks worse then the previous pics. Like the one below. I've always liked the pic on the right.

Re: Prime 1 Studio - Dawn of Justice- Wonder Woman Statue

I think regardless of how much that Wonder Woman looks like Gal Gadot, if this were just a random sculpt of Wonder Woman I would say it looks nice in general. However still not feeling the non-sculpted hair..
