I would definitely go for a Bruce Wayne in the vest and light blue shirt. I liked the unorthodox unsuited look for him. I would actually be more inclined to pick up a Batman to display with a Bruce Wayne in a sort of back to back fashion.

Unfinished. A crop of a much larger composition. I was reluctant to share this one for many reasons. . It didn't turn out the way I had hoped. I may return to it some day...

In homage to Rembrandt's "The Descent From The Cross"

I know you liked the film, the comments about the scene being rushed or possibly being better after a JL film seem odd to me that's all.

Ah, well perhaps "gripe" was a poor choice of word, as I didn't think it was something the film did nor got wrong. Like I mentioned, I actually thought it worked. I was just more surprised that they did it so soon, but I suppose that is what you expect in a film; to be surprised.

Yes, that is a great piece. Even though an art piece, it still evokes emotion. I think someone also posted it a few pages back in this particular thread. I don't recall, during this scene, was that soldier there in the back helping lower Supes also?

No sir, he mentions it's a crop and unfinished, the original piece by Rembrandt has many other individuals in the portrait, I think he's leaning on doing similar to that piece

I got to see this for the 3rd time last weekend.
My buddy bought tickets in advance for the IMAX 3d, and his GF's kid couldnt make it. So he called me 25 minutes before the show if I want free tix...so of course, I said Hell Yes!

Figured after the 3rd time, I wont shed a tear anymore at that scene, but it still got me, lol.
Its funny though, all three viewings and I can hear quite a few SNIFF SNIFF around me.

Lucky you getting free tix. No kidding though; "Let me think.....YES!" :lol

Same here for me with the second viewing as far as getting teary eyed. Heck, just even listening to the score ("This Is My World") can get me teary eyed. You'd think when you know what's going to happen, you'd sort of be impervious to it at that point being that it's not as much of a shock. I remember once the music toned down and he hit the ground, the theater I was in just went dead silent, as if everyone was holding their breath. Once WW looked at Lois and then solemnly turned away, is when I started hearing sniffles. As if WW turning away was all that needed to be said to everyone's silence.

This scene in my personal opinion is probably the most poignant, moving scene in any superhero film/CBM I've seen. May even rank up there with just film and TV in general.

TDK trilogy labeled Bats as being the hero that the people deserve, but not the one that they need. Supes to me is the polar opposite: The type of hero that the people need, but not the one that they deserve.

LOVE it- just amazing

Very good indeed. I actually currently have it as the wallpaper on my phone's lock screen.

Lol, yeah...I wasnt expecting it. I was at starbucks about 15 minutes from the theater, when he called.
He was like...hey, where are you? I got free tix for IMAX 3d, its yours if you want it.
I'M ON MY WAY!!! he he

Yeah, definitely one of the most moving scenes in a superhero movie.
At first, I was also conflicted if Doomsday storyline should have had its own longer story.
But my buddy actually made more sense, cause he felt this was actually better cause Doomsday is really a one dimensional character...unlike the joker or penguin, etc.
He served one big purpose in superman's storyline, and that is for the Death and Return of superman storyline.
So in some ways, its good that Snyder weaved that storyline to BvS cause if it would have been in another movie, it wouldnt have been surprising cause we all know its coming.

That's one of the big surprise in this movie, cause even though we know Doomsday was in it, we didnt think it would go there cause we assumed
that since Supes will be Justice league movie, they wont end the way it did.
So its actually smart that Snyder weaved this in this storyline cause it caught us off guard.

Yeah, your buddy does have a point. I didn't think them doing it was necessarily a flaw, or even a gripe. More just surprised that they did it so early, but I guess that's a good thing because being surprised in a film is what you want. I admire Snyder having the gall to pull it off (just like the controversial ending of MoS), and managing to pull it off beautifully and make the scene really one that evokes emotion. Some people like to know what to expect from a superhero film, so when I think something just completely deviates from what they were expecting, it's possible they may not necessarily know how to comprehend it at first being that it's such a shock.

Also, Doomsday is one of those villains where if you make him the villain in the film, then he has to die at the end of the film. It's not like they could have left him alive by him escaping after this film and then brought him back again in say a MoS sequel. Like you said, his only purpose as a villain is really to serve as the one that kills Supes. He's essentially a mindless destruction beast.

I also think it sort of brings Jor-El's quote full circle: "...They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun."

Yeah, that's twice now where Snyder had the balls to do something you wouldnt expect that it shocks you in the end.
You dont expect Superman to kill, specially snapping someone's neck, so when he did that in MOS, I gasped...cause I never saw that coming.

Same thing with BvS. in retrospect, its crazy to think back now that eventhough we saw Doomsday in the trailer, we still assume it wouldnt end like that. lol

Precisely. :duff

I have seen this movie 6 times already. Only problems I have with it are in editing and pacing. It's a shame we may never see anything as ambitious like it again. I kind of hate Warner for cutting out 30 minutes from this movie. Anyway, even though the movie might not be the success Warner and DC wanted it to be, it's still a success.

That moment when Batman finally realises that Superman isn't this enemy he's made him out to be, and Superman's death is just handled really well. I still tear/ choke up a bit.

I finally saw it in IMAX (5th viewing) and that scene where you first see Armoured Batman just had me in awe. Worth the asking price of a ticket alone.

I enjoyed SW:TFA and saw that 4 times in the theatre. It is nowhere near as good as BVS in my opinion. It is a rehash of stories that came before it and though the movie was made with love and evoked a lot of feelings from my childhood. It is ultimately a shallow movie.

I really want to see it again now....

Seriously. I hope the extended cut gets a cinema run. I'd see that.

I thought the film was really good also. Superman's death scene couldn't have been any better, in my opinion. The scene where Bats realizes Supes isn't his enemy is also extremely well done. I like to think that Bats really pounded Luthor's cronies in that scene because it was personal for him also in the sense that even though it wasn't his mother, he was sort of living vicariously through Superman's mom because while he was unable to save his own, he had the chance to save the mother of another with the same name as his own mother, which is the reason why he became Batman in the first place.

My favorite line from the film was: "I failed him in life; I won't fail him in death."

Loved BvS too and I agree, the moment where Bruce realizes this beaten alien has a mother, a woman and a noble purpose chokes me up every time (seen it 3 times).

All my viewings have been in 70mm 2D IMAX. The Knightmare sequence and the fight look breathtaking in five stories. That moment where the Parademon comes fully into frame blows my mind every time.

Overall a 9/10.

*Really worried that Snyder's full cut will elevate it to a 10/10 because it'll make me extremely mad at WB for not releasing the full film.

They showed a deleted scene with lex communicating with an alien. That scene alone would have cleared some things up for casual viewers.

I'm on my 7th viewing at the moment lol.

Yes I agree it's an amazing experience which baffles me why it gets so much media hate. I have seen many many many other films that are hailed but I thought were bad- must be us!!:clap
