1/6 Hot Toys - Aliens ALIEN Warrior 2.0 (2016)

Am I alone in thinking it looks like ****. Less Alien Warrior and more like a man in a suit. Every director does its best to hide stuff on screen that makes a man in a suit look like a man in a suit. Hence why Ridley Scott cut out most of the Alien moving around out of the film. And 'high end' figure collectors want 'movie' accuracy and thus want a man in a suit figure. I don't get it.

I'd prefer it to look spindly and more puppet-like.

I don't mind the chunkier suit version, honestly. I just wish it wasn't rubber.

What's wrong with the arms?

the arms are a fusion between the puppet and the man in suit versions. In the movie we have two alien warrior versions.
This is the puppet:



The arm spurs are absent in this version.

And it is achievable in 1/6th where it is not in 1:1.

The teeth ought to be more narrow. I get a bit of a Tsukuda vibe from the rounded sculpt style of the head, but that could just be me.

Well, not surprisingly, it looks a lot better in the moodily lit professional photos.
But, it's still not accurate enough for me to fork out that amount of money. Actually, no amount of money...

I'm glad a lot of people will get a Hot Toys alien to display, but I'll just stick to NECA's figures for now.
Looking forward to seeing in hand pics of this one!

Really puts things into perspective when a unique figure like this is put up for pre-order priced $20 less than Sideshow's Rogue Leader Luke which is far more basic.

considering I'm a life long Aliens fan and it is my favorite film, I will be getting this. So far I have the original release of the Alien warrior, the AVP alien, and I will be getting this one. Hopefully it holds up better than the first release, I had to pack the original up because the joints fell apart, the rubber was fine though, I never had an issue with the rubber on hot toys figures.

Maybe for HT but for Neca, you couldn't beat this franchise down with a stick, too many collectors invested in the line
