Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - ALIEN Warrior - HT Facebook says "coming soon"

I love how many people were so ready to dump on this figure, then the photos come out and it looks good. It's easily Hot Toys' best rendition on the Alien.

You say that like as though those people want their cynicism to be vindicated. Hah, maybe we wouldn't mind that actually, it'd be guaranteed money saved :lol But then again, being proved wrong isn't a bad thing either. Win/win.

Anyway, yes it does look much better than I thought it would. The headsculpt actually bears more than a basic resemblance to the movie creature unlike say the Big Chap or previous Warrior. But like you and others I'm concerned about the rubber, it puts doubt over the whole thing. May well pass because of it. If they release Aliens Ripley as a standalone figure and USCM 2.0s I'd have a very difficult time passing on those though. I think they'd work on their own even without any Aliens.

Yes, the Marines and the Predator build kits were a love/hate type of thing when it came to building them - I loved it but also hated it at the same time. It was a great feeling though when you finally got the figure built and put it in your display for the 1st time. I remember spending a lot of time building the power loader and having a good time doing it but I also remember trying to build the 1st release P2 Elder before I knew about the hair dryer trick and nearly pulling out my hair trying to get the lower leg armor on.

Those were good times though:)

I think I remember selling some of my stuff to you actually.

i was really hopeing for NO RUBBER. i was really happy with the way they did the predalien. they should have made it like the predalien.

Isn't that mostly due to the Canadian dollar's exchange rate though? For $220 USD, I'm all over this, at least two of them in fact. I'm guessing they'll be closer to $250 though.
I remember buying the original Hot Toys AvP predators and alien for $125 USD each. AND the Canadian dollar was almost even with the US dollar back then. Those were the days...

Wasn't the alien(s) warrior the 1st to be released from the Alien franchise? So I think it would make sense to release a film accurate version. Oh and yes the 30th anniv. of Aliens is perfect timing.

As for the big chap, we might have to wait maybe for the 40th anniv.....Hopefully sooner.

I figured it'd be around $250 but was hoping it'd be less. :( Still going to end up getting it but will wait for a coupon.

It looks better than in the teaser pics, but still not very accurate and definitely not worth 250$. Ill just get the 1/4 scale Neca warrior.

Why does Sideshow list this as 13.77" tall? They didn't shrink their Aliens, did they?

One can argue that you can get the same enjoyment with a NECA 7” or 18” action figure as details will translate for the most part the same at portions of the price.
Where you can’t make this argument are in the HT head sculpt / cloth figures (i.e. Ripley, TG Arnold’s, Boba Fett’s, Chewbacca's etc etc). Where any other toy company and HT are night and day!!

What I’m saying is I like my Dog Alien at $170 and there is no need to spend up to $340 Canadian on this piece!!
