Can you IMAGINE if WW footage had been kept secret? Maybe just show her in street clothes in the trailers so we think that maybe she's just JL foreshadowing in this Batman/Superman movie and then BAM full costume against Doomsday?? I would have totally **** myself James Cameron style if I had seen that moment cold. :lol

The WW introduction together with the music is possibly the best moment in the movie. Loved it! :clap

Also agree on Superman sitting in the burning Capital being one of the most powerful scenes in the movie. Hell it was a powerful scene for ANY cbm.

That didn't do much for me.

That didn't do much for me. Did he even stick around to help put out the fire? The news report of him disappearing after the explosion would seem to suggest he didn't which is another black mark against this Superman.

The first time I saw it I thought it was an excellent scene, very thought provoking because I never thought of superman being in a situation like that before. But then the second time I couldn't help but think of all the injured people he should be saving. I suppose that is the sort of push and pull logic of having superman in a movie. It also applies to the animated tv shows and comic books that supes is in.

a-dev ain't letting Superman Returns sequel go no matter what. :lol

:lol :lol

Yeah I just think it's a case of sacrificing some of Superman's character for the sake of a dramatic shot. I'm not sure they thought it through. It very much felt to me like Superman in that moment was just thinking ''ooohh this isn't going to look good for me'' instead of ''quickly, I must help save anyone I can'' which is what Superman traditionally would do. And if he just flew off (as was apparently the case) it also makes him an idiot because that only makes him look worse.

Cool, the director's cut will be interesting. I hope it fixes this film.

I hope we get more info on that Man-Bat thing. Or maybe a passing remark or nod to Bruce's previous adventures, and the state of his villains. Maybe a scene where he goes over some files in the Bat-Computer and we see some "mug-shots" of them. Or just something. The whole Bat-Demon Dream was somewhat "confusing", as it didn't really tie-in with anything else.

Honestly I think him being a killer does nicely offset the silliness of him being a guy who sneaks around the city in a bat costume at night. So much of Batman's shtick is striking fear and at some point that fear just won't last if everyone knows that the guy in the Halloween costume will never do anything more than rough you up a little bit. I know whenever I've been in real life situations where I've been spooked about what lurks in dark shadows it has never been because I was concerned about something jumping out and slapping me and then giving me a stern talking to.

I actually saw him as more "RoboCop" than Punisher. You know "Dead or alive, you're coming with me," where his default method wasn't execution but if you resisted too strongly or pulled a gun on him, yeah, you're gone.

When gods are taking your time and keeping you busy who has time to play games with regular low level criminals.

Kill em and move foward to the bigger fish.

It will be revealed that this Batman DID have a "No Kill" Policy until certain things happened (particularly the Black Zero Event).

The idea is he's now an older, battle-weary Batman with much bigger things on his mind than just fighting petty criminals. He also doesn't go out of his way to kill them, he just doesn't give much of a crap anymore.

Alfred hints at this when talking about the "New rules?". It's not just the branding. When he's talking about "the fever, the rage... that turns good men... cruel" while showing the footage of Superman's fight with Zod, he's not talking about Superman, he's talking about Bruce/Batman. He wasn't always this way.

Makes sense. But at some point I do want the movies to answer why his primary villains are still alive...if they are. Keaton Batman killed low level thugs but he also killed Joker.

I'd guess it's because the henchmen always try to take him out and so he cuts through them like butter but then when he gets to the main bad guys they're always smart enough to surrender.

Because he didn't kill before. He's changed.

Or that. :lol

At one point there was a very small subplot (really just a few lines of exposition) in the script that talked about how he's changed by discussing the Bat-gadgets. Essentially, he used to go out of his way to use all "non-lethals" but in the months leading up to the events of the film he started using lethals and things that do much more damage. He and Alfred debate about it. I think it's probably the same "Turns good men cruel" scene.
