I'll get more when we've altered one specific to ESB /Rotj

Great work mate! Can't wait to see your vader fininished!

Thanks. :)

While waiting for my gunmetal paint to arrive, I worked on some gloves. I basically combined McHaley's and matrix69's works: using the hands from the SSC DX Vader (with the sleeve and "top" of the glove removed), and using the fabric from the SSC DX suit for the top, sewn to a piece of thin faux leather for the underside. This allows wrist articulation, whlile keeping a leather glove look for the fingers.

I expected better from you
However we did sculpt our own and it's almost identical.
Isnt 3D printing simply a more advanced way of copying ?
I don't see files from an accurate helmet in the public domain.

I don't think that Mr and Mrs H needs an advocate, and this is shurely an OT so I apologize for this post, but I can't restrain myself from say that Hurricane has given us the best Vader for a long time! (and sorry for my english). Now I think that is in his right to go on with his research of vader 1/6 "perfection" using mass produced parts. As said, he is arrived at the same results, if not better, before than ht!

Thanks. :)

Now I remember why I love this forum! Thanks for sharing your wip. Amazing work on the gloves! This is potentially the best Vader I've ever seen!

Thanks a lot, that is some high praise! :) I can't imagine this will the "best" Vader, but I certainly will try to get it as good, and as close to matrix69 and hurricane's Vaders, as I can. Those are my benchmarks, and I would be happy to get anywhere near to their greatness.

I finished the boots and am currently glossing the shin guards. Still need to modify/reshape the shoulder bells some more, reshape the skirt of the dome a bit, and then paint the chest armor and helmet, as soon as the gunmetal paint arrives.
The only thing that's still bothering me is the inner robe. I already modded it slightly, but I'm still not happy. Alternatives would be lforigno's set, or a robe made from scratch, which is difficult without a sewing machine, though. Smaller things like the gloves I can sew by hand, but larger items like that would be too difficult I think.

I agree that matrix and hurricane are the master.About the inner robe I have to say that I made it and the cape from scratch and my mother In law sewed it by hand. I'm very happy with the results.

Thanks. :)

Love the work in progress agonistes86, great job.

:clap

Still loving it Yannick! The proportions look great, as do the gloves. Is that your custom robe or the SS? The folds look great

Has anyone tried the Kaiyodo chest armour on the Hot Toys Vader ? I'm interested to see how it looks proportionally .
I think Matrix's HT Vader is using the Kaiyodo chest armor. It looks fine. I just liked the way the HT Armor sat for ANH...and how the Kaiyodo sat for an ESB version.

Thanks, buddy. That's still the SS robe. The only thing I did was (crudely) sew the robe a bit tighter around shoulder height to get it closer together and increase the folds. What bothers me about it is around hip level. In the third picture you can see how it kinda billows out, instead of draping down more naturally.
My paint still hasn't arrived, so there's no further progress for now. :tap
