Initial impression is that this figure is great!
I'm not an expert on Indiana Jones' outfit variations, so I can't speak intelligently on the ins and outs of his outfit, but the overall package is quite impressive.
I REALLY like the headsculpt. I think Sideshow did a fantastic job from prototype to production piece. The paintwork is solid. It could be improved with a gloss wash to show some perspiration. And the customizers are going to have a ball with his clothing. It's very clean.
The hat looks pretty good in hand, though the lack of being able to futz how it sits on his head is regrettable.
The body is pretty good. It does a good job of capturing Ford's 'lankiness.' My only gripe is the joints are lot great. I have a VERY squeaky knee and a loose elbow.
He does have a giraffe neck, but I can live with it. And of course the hairline is REALLY ugly.
I'll have to spend some time futzing the belts and such, but I gotta say, I think Sideshow has done a commendable job with this figure.

Glad you like him rubio! Indeed , I think ssc has done alright with this indy representation. Both elbows on my one were pretty dam tight. So it may vary from figure to figure. I agree with you about the slighty chunky giraffe neck. The Han in Carbonite PF suffers from this too.
I think the most glaring issue is the hair piece seam, it's not even close. Lucky nearly everyone will pose him with the fedora. Please post some pics of indy once you have him posed up.:)

I'm currently waiting for the shirt to dry after water treatment. The collar was just too clean and crisp.

I watched TOD again, paying very close attention to the state of Indy's gear. This figure should've come with two shirts. There should have been an additional one that had both sleeves. And, of course, the omission of a jacket is inexcusable.

I pulled out my DX05, and that certainly made it easier to see what Sideshow did right, but also called attention to the aspects in which Hot Toys is king. I swapped the DX05 fedora onto the Sideshow. That, in itself, is a great upgrade. The Sideshow fedora is just too wide in the crown.

I'm hoping to get a few pics up in a little while.

As far as a quality figure, this is definitely that. The price is steep, however. That's the biggest area of my dissatisfaction.

I received my figure today. Very happy. Excellent likeness. Only complaints are the box feels flimsy and no magnetic closure on the satchel. Love the sculpt, machete and pistol! Recommended!

Still getting to know this figure...

Quickly tried to replicate my favorite shot from ToD:

Hot toys fedora looks pretty nice. Does it stay on there ok?
I was thinking about using tea to stain the shirt, ever tried this. I think it will simulate sweat quite well.
The weathering of the aldens took a step back from the proto I feel, but the laces were an unexpected suprise. They could have just sculpted them on the shoes, but went the next level.

Don't take this the wrong way, I really like your post, but I especially like the fact that you made positives out of negatives.. :lol

Especially:

"...And the customizers are going to have a ball with his clothing. It's very clean. "

Thanks for your thoughts and pic, Rubio!

Yeah, I anticipate that hat will be my biggest peeve. I'm not sure what I'll do since I still display my HT Indy, so I can't use that hat. I'm going to try the original Sideshow extra hat from their Raiders Indy. Since I have an extra hat, I may shave it down from the inside til it fits. If it works, I may play musical hats and use the Sideshow hat on the HT Indy and then use the HT hat on the TOD Indy!

So with the announcement of young JOHN CONNER ED FURLONG , I had to post on ASMUS FB Page to give us a long overdue SHORTROUND. I Hope they see the need and DEMAND for SHORTY. Anyway back to the TEMPLE of DOOM.

Just got this figure and I'm in LOVE with it!!!

Slightly weathered the outfit, glued down the collars and cut more of the sleeve to expose more of his arm.

Also repainted his wounds on his back

Before and after weathering and glueing his shirt down to permanently giving it that great futzed look :)

Looks Awesome. Glad to see you know your battle damage (elbow) ssc missed it altogether on the 1:6, but had it on the pf? You made him look better for sure. What did you use to dirty up the shirt?

Now how to eliminate the blood and bruises without a total repaint?
It depends. You may not have a choice. There are times it's possible ad the BD paint is the last to go in and can be taken off wit care. I've have figure where I could literally scrape off the top paint with a finger nail, and others where is was so integral to the paint that taking off any top layered paint would leave a very noticeable mark.

Great. Thanks for the body picture. What's everyone's opinion on this body? As far as the shoulders go they may be a bit more sloped then the HT body even though they are muscular.
