Finally got my tracking number for this bad boy. Ordered him a bit late so I had to wait for their second shipment. Came out to roughly $238 shipped. :yess:

Should be here on Weds.

What? I can't even get a 1/6 scale figure for that. I paid more than double. How did you do that?

Got mine today and absolutely love it! The detail and engineering on this figure are amazing. There are x2 little issues though. First, the light up functions. What a pain in the ass to turn them all on! Once you have a pose all dialled in, you have to then remove all the panels to turn on individual lights. Why not just make ONE button to rule them ALL! Just make the arch a push button, neat and easy. Second, the base. It SUX! I'm sorry, it does. Tall and awkward, no good footing. I'd prefer a simpler base with less goin on. It's the first thing I'm going to change. Other than those two small issues, I am blown away by this figure.
I just hope that Hot Toys will carry the 1/4 momentum on with the Terminator line.

one button for all lights would be a headache. Wires would have to go through jointed areas which I would cause issues with having a removable head and wires breaking over time.

I got this for $267.27 shipped thanks to an Xmas gift of a $200 Sdeshow gift card and $100 in points I had, $80 of which were from Spook. I owe my girlfriend and Sideshow one for being able to get this masterpiece for so cheap.

I think one switch won't be possible. but they can do it if they include a remote control just like enterbay did with their 1/4 scale robocop😉

If they can do a remote they can do a single switch. It's the exact same principle. Part of the reason that they do not is so they can "replace" sections of a figure and not the entire figure. If the legs are wired to the torso then they can't easily replace a leg if it's damaged. And so on. It also makes the wiring more complex, and makes finding a fault much more difficult. They can easily wire it all to one switch. But the elimanates a large amount of the customer service offered.

Another question for those who have this... Anyone else having a tough time getting the gold inner calf flaps back in all the way. Mine seem to stick out no matter what.

How else would it turn all the lights on? A remote is just an external switch, essentially. Unless each section had a wireless or ir transmitter, and the remote had multiple functions.

If they just hooked up the torso to a remote (few ways to do it but I'm just going general) it would still have no path or ability to operate any of the other sections. As I said, a remote is just a wireless switch. If it's only able to connect to one section it's not turning the others on. So each individual light needs to be connected to each other light (so exactly the same as a in torso switch) or each light needs to be connected to something that transmits and rx the remote signal.

I'm not sure how you think it works so I can't explain it more tailored to you...but if they can set it up to a remote then they can do a single switch. And a switch would in fact be easier, not the other way around. And your post seemed to indicate you felt a remote would be more likely then a single switch due to the remote being somehow easier or less work.

Yeah, like it was said earlier, that would play havoc with all the joints and removable parts.

No it's not the articulation that's the issue. It's the removable and replaceable parts as well as cost and time and assembly that is the reason. You can wire it all together and still have full articulation.

By removable parts I'm referring to the full limbs not the panels. When an arm breaks they can replace it. If it where internally wired they would need to replace the entire figure.

My post was in response to the above statement. It is not easier to do a remote then a switch. They are at best equal and normally the remote is A LOT more complicated and expensive.

But wires running through joints with a wide range of articulation (such as the shoulders) would be susceptible to damage, no?

Yeah. I thought that was obvious.
