Has no one in the US got a shipping notice for tomorrow then?

I'm in the UK but all my orders ship from the US because i request a pack out and they don't offer that service from HK. So i contacted Sideshow last night and asked and they said it is shipping from the US, not from HK. I'm pretty sure she is mistaken since only international customers have had shipping notices for tomorrow so i will try live chat again today. I HATE damaged boxes :panic:

Hey can someone help me? I just ordered vader and wanted to use my reward points. I put in how many I wanted to use etc but I didn't click the little box underneath it and now the order has gone through, if I cancel it right now will I loose the NRD? Or will it be okay seeing as I just made the order? Thanks in advance

SS probably won't be able to add the RPs because they say they don't have access to them.

But as a courtesy they may cancel the order to allow re-ordering.

Problem is the NRD gets taken immediately, so unless they let me re order with out paying one I think I might be screwed.

I had them refund my NRD recently but they told me it would be a one time thing. They don't want people to get in the habit of canceling without penalties.

You will pay

$300 for the figure
$30 for shipping
20% of the price of the figure AND shipping so $66
A FedEx admin fee £12 (you can avoid this if you open a FedEx account)
A foreign credit card transaction fee if your card has one
A packout fee of $10 (if you request one).
You might also be hit with 5% duty but this is rare.

Thanks for the advice. Is duty really only 5%? The few times I've ordered anything from the states I've been hit with what felt like huge amounts of cash in customs and handling fees.

VAT is 20%.

Duty is dependent on the commodity code selected for the item:

I think Sideshow used to use this one:

95
Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof

03

Tricycles, scooters, pedal cars and similar wheeled toys; dolls' carriages; dolls; other toys; reduced-size ('scale') models and similar recreational models, working or not; puzzles of all kinds

Dolls representing only human beings and parts and accessories thereof

Dolls 00 21 90 Other

Overview

Import

The commodity code for importing is 9503002190.
Importing from outside the EU is subject to a third country duty of 4.70 %.

However,

You’ll be charged Customs Duty on gifts and other goods sent from outside the EU if they’re above a certain value, unless the duty comes to less than £9.

The value includes:

  • the price paid for the goods
  • postage, packaging and insurance

But if you're in Europe and Sideshow sent it from Hong Kong, they have their own way of working things out. :wink1:

It'll cost less, even though UPS will add £11 brokerage and £2 residential delivery surcharge (the latter they seem to conceal within the VAT).

Do I order this first on Friday or Luke ? Kinda leaning toward Luke cause of the exclusive.
Could order Vader in 2 weeks.

Do you guys think there's any risk in waiting for a little bit to order this guy? I'm still a little on the fence about him, but I have some amazon gift cards coming my way that I can use through the amazon payments checkout at sideshow. Think he'll sell out pretty quick?

Can those be used when checking out at Sideshow? Has anyone actually done it? I tried to test it out once but all I saw was the option to use the CC that was in my Amazon account. I didn't go any further so I don't know if there is an option later in the checkout process to use Amazon gift cards. I would love it if it was possible!

Anyone know for sure?

Satisfied my curiosity as to how the Dredd gloves would look on Vader and I can say that the stock hands look much better, IMO. I can see why Hot Toys sculpted them the way they did but if they would have made the hands a smidgen bigger, with thicker fingers, they would be perfect. Anyway, here's a couple pics.

I'll admit they do look pretty good in the photos but I wasn't too impressed with how it looked in person. I'll play around with it a bit more to see if I can make it look a little tighter. I think the problem is that the bendy hands' fingers are too short so it makes them look stubby.

It's not the hands that are so much of a problem as the thick piece of fabric forming the back of the glove itself. That's just plain wrong.

They need to be replaced with a single moulded glove/gauntlet.
