Same, that was so retarded, I always thought Yoda would be the kind of Jedi who can move ****ing mountains and has no need to use his light-saber.

God damn Dooku's a ****ing badass. So much class.

Hated Yoda walking in with the lightsaber and flipping ****. One of the many reasons I dislike Attack of the Clones the most.

Agreed with everyone on the terrible Yoda scene. The worst. Though that scene in the factory is actually probably even worse somehow. . .like a terrible movie interpretation of part of a board from Mega Man.

I think Mauls' arrogance is key. Its what ended up getting him killed in the end, so I think the flip just further drives home that idea of him being too confident in his abilities.

The only think that I hate about the duel is that some how Maul and Qui-Gon end up being divided by last laser wall while they were fighting their way down the hall. Obi-Wan runs at a full sprint and gets blocked by that same wall. If Maul could fight his way through all the barriers and Qui-Gon getting stopped at the same one Obi-Wan gets caught at, surely he would have been able to run though them all!
Having just re-watched it, I thought the laser walls was one of the best things about that scene. It added dramatic tension in the way those little breaks with close-ups worked in old Bruce Lee fights. And seeing Maul pace around while Neeson meditated highlighted what it was that distinguished these characters from one another. Then, of course, there's the helplessness of Mcgregor as he can't step in to support his master. Good stuff.

What ended up getting Maul killed in the end was his underestimating the strength of Obi Wan's fingers.

I love all the lightsaber duels in the PT. I don't go into these movies thinking I'm going to get a realistic fight for survival style combat. It's suppose to be flashy. That said, I thought Yoda's jump flips were ridiculous.

As legendary as Epsidoe IV is, the duel between Vader and Obi Wan would never work with today's audience. Take a look at Obi Wan's spin move at 0:35. :lol

The fight wasn't very cool even in 1977. It was the idea -- the confrontation of ancient enemies -- that had gravitas. And the glowing blades were neat too.

I think ESB has the best balance of "cool tactics" and yet "still believable" without to much flying around.

Once the PT established that Jedi could run lightening quick and jump three stories in a single bound, any Jedi 'fight' became questionable.

-Now ayy am ddde master!
-Only a master of evewl Darth.

:lol I giggle every time, that's PT-tier dialog/acting.

Seriously that is very very bad imo, EPV and EPVI duels are light years above this one.

The Ben Kenobi vs. Vader fight in Star Wars sucks and so does the Obi-Wan vs. Anakin fight in Sith for the exact opposite reasons.

Best duels are the ones in Empire Strikes Back, Phantom Menace and Return of the Jedi.

So the circle was indeed complete :lol

After watching what happened to Annie in ROTS, I gotta say, he seemed very cool when he saw Obi Wan all those years later. I mean, you'd think he'd be more upset at the guy who cut off his legs.

The whole Anakin / Dooku fight is awful also... Weirdly shot... More incompetence by Lucas.

Around 1:57 when the lights go out, it looks awful. It was like Christopher Nolan directed that fight with the closeups.

.

I forget how the glowing blades were a big deal back then :lol Like Caveman discovering fire...and now we take it for granted

I do like that part of it, but how those walls worked that scenario out made no sense unless someone was physically controlling them. If they were on some sort of pre-set order or timer, there isn't any reason Maul should have been able to fight his way through them and Obi-Wan get stuck when he sprinted through them.

No, he was toying with Obi-Wan. He figured he had him defeated and without a lightsaber. He's just enjoying the kill by drawing it out. His over confidence (just like Palpatine) was he weakness.

PT lightsaber duels are better than the OT duels.

Vader vs Ben is worst duel in history.

Vader vs Luke on Bespin, while the scene is great and iconic, that is not much of a duel, but rather a beatdown.

Vader vs Luke on Death Star was the best of the OT duels.

So, rumor is that Disney is keeping Jake Lloyd out of the spotlight, they're paying for his rehab, legal fees and most importantly to keep his mouth shut.

Media channels are all scrambling to be first to get him for an exclusive interview on how SW ruined his hollywood acting career and life.

Hey, whatever happened to Ahmed Best? :lol
