Yeah I'm not so sure. Deadpool has insane popularity but the fact we've only ever seen wolverine figures doesn't give much hope. Especially since people are clamoring for magneto and professor x even had a prototype made and it never saw the light of day. It seems that unless the character falls under the marvel studios brand, it's up **** creek.

The main difference here and no offense to either character you mention(I love them both) is that deadpool has that eye catching stand out suit and comic effect in a collection that seems to make people that don't even like the character want one in their collection. He is one of those figures that would really stand out in a collection. I personally love the character and would want this figure even if he wasn't popular or eye catching, but the fact that he is both means that hot toys will 99% for sure make his figure.

Good points, but it all comes down to licensing and bs.

There is also the Wolverine effect. Anyone who got Wolverine is likely to pick up DP and I'm sure HTs know this. That and DPs popularity is so high, both in comics and soon movies. Money talks. Resolve licensing issues - kerching.

I'd have to respectfully disagree here. As of right now (this may change after the Ryan Reynolds movie is released), most of the general public has no idea who Deadpool is. I wouldn't call him insanely popular. He's popular amongst those who like the Deadpool comics. But he is not even close to the popularity of the X-Men, particularly the movie X-Men. From a business standpoint, there is a much larger potential buyer market for other X-Men film characters than Deadpool. Even if the Deadpool movie is a huge success, I'd still be surprised if they make a Deadpool figure before some of the other X characters...

Ya we definitely disagree on his one, you can go to any hot topic or Walmart and see more deadpool stuff than xmen stuff, and that speaks to current popularity, if we were talking kids toys you would probly be right about a larger potential market, but we are talking about single figure sales of high end adult collectibles here. I am sure we will see a deadpool figure from hot toys and judging from how awesome the movie is looking I bet we will get a colossus also since his character design looks great and he would sell like wildfire as well. I was hopeful for age of apocalypse figures until I saw what singer did with the apocalypse design, (he looks like an old lady and not intimidating at all) it was as bad as him wasting bishops character and story in dofp. Colossus is another fan favorite and I heard he has a large part in the deadpool movie, hot toys is looking easily at two potential cash cows from this license, and honestly I don't think they had that with other xmen figures that they could have made, with the exception of magneto his design and character were awesome and would have sold well, many others would have been more of a risk tho.

Ok so just got my 7 day processing notice and they are charging me $101 to ship this to Australia. Unless that's a mistake, with our dollar I can't justify that.

Shipping within the US is even higher than I've seen at $30. Of course that's nowhere near $101, but it is still awfully high from a company that used to charge $10 per figure. I still don't see why this figure should cost so much to ship. Makes me wonder if Sideshow is pocketing some of this extra shipping money or something.

Oh and I just checked Big Bad Toy Store. Shipping there is less than $10 for me.

:thud: I just came across this custom and it gives me really high hopes of what a hot toys version could give us. Amazing work whoever made this :clap
Most custom work looks better than mass produced figures. I'm sure HT's possible version will have it's own fanclub full of detractors. I wonder how poseable that custom DP is.

Tried to do a live chat to confirm they haven't put the wrong dimensional details into their system but our crappy work environment won't allow it. Looking at the product page the dimensions seem wrong. Most sixth scale have a dimensional weight of around 12lbs but this one is 30lbs. I paid less shipping for the deadpool premium format figure.

O.K I just checked Sideshows site n weight for deadpool someone messed up. There's no Way he's 22lbs and 30 lbs for international and product weight says 2 Lbs. The shipping should be waaaaaaaaaaay cheaper then 31.68 for us in U.S and everywhere. Its a figure with reg stand and not much else.

Ya that's crazy! He should be like 10 or 12 bucks U.S.
