Yeah, that Skeletor bust is awesome! I wouldn't be surprised if the alternate 'classic' head looks pretty close to it. Its a near spot-on take of what I would picture Skeletor of looking like if he wasn't animated or an 80's toy. I think the 200X line has my favorite Skeletor figure so far just because it wasn't so cartoony and with weird proportions. That personally turned me off from MotUC with Matty. I'm just not a huge retro fan. I know sculpting and articulation is far better these days and I'd like new toys to reflect that. I don't want them done in a less detailed or not as good as they could be for nostalgia factor. So this Sideshow Skeletor is the closest thing of getting a highly detailed version of the character. PCS may do an equally nice one in the same style as the 1:1 bust but I'm not a huge fan of their He-Man, although the idea of a Battle Cat companion is really cool. So for the sake of a continuity and sense of style, Sideshow is my preference. I'm not the biggest MotU fan by any means, but I've always loved Skeletor and enjoyed the line as a whole. Oh, how I would have loved 1:6 figures though. Maybe someday when the new movie finally happens.

i would love a 1/6 line

Yeah they're supposed to be pretty close to the old toys

Bleh, between that and how impossible their exclusives are to get, that's a major pass for me. 1:6 scale can handle so many little details, making jumbo retro figures like what GG is doing is pointless IMO.

I don't think they are going to be like that at all. Based on the sketches we've seen, and the person they chose to design the Mondo figures, I doubt they'll be THAT close to the vintage figures.

For instance, here's a sneak peak from the instagram of Mondo's Brock Otterbacker of the top of Skeletor's staff. Lots of nice detail.

Oh, nice. That does look really good. That gives me hopes that is the line I've been waiting for. But their atrocious exclusive sizes and cult following they have is still a major turn off.

Or maybe it was because Sideshow's initial press release e-mail said it was 1/5 scale :dunno

Actually it was on the website when they launched the PO, and was quickly removed, but the speculation went so far on after that even with people saying it was just a typo. Sideshow has said, repeatedly, Premium Format means 1/4 scale. The Dimensions of the statue itself easily refute it being 1/5 scale, which is why I said they don't know math. Of course, people love to dig their heels in, I'm willing to bet there's still a few that will argue it's 1/5th scale.

Masters of the Universe - He-Man - Statue pre-order!

“By the power of Grayskull...I have the power!”

As our debut release from a new statue collection inspired by the popular 80’s cartoon series Masters of the Universe, Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present He-Man!

Standing an impressive 23" tall, Prince Adam of Eternia holds aloft his indestructible magic Power Sword as he transforms into He-Man, the mighty champion of Castle Grayskull! Sideshow’s artists have re-imagined the muscular hero with his trusty shield, intricately detailed armored pteruges, boots and gauntlets, his strength-magnifying breastplate and power harness, and a magnificent removable cape. As a special nod to the earliest versions of the story, we have also included an exclusive swap-out axe, He-Man's primary weapon before he joined the two halves of the Power Sword that would gain him entry to Castle Grayskull. Charged with defending his kingdom from the evil forces of Skeletor, He-Man is the most powerful man in the universe!

Ordered with the SSF link! It's going to be a long wait for this guy. Thankfully I had $60 in rewards to help relieve it a little. And 7 Flexpay payments brought it down to only a bit over $40/month.

This looks so awesome. The dollar is terrible, but I don't think I can pass on this one. I'm going to wait and see what it goes up for locally in the next couple of days, and then decide. Odds are I'll go through Sideshow and Flex him (with muscles like those you have no choice but to flex! :lol) The TBD ES does make me wonder if it's worth waiting for the $20 coupon, just to ease the pain a bit. That's like a $98 coupon Canadian. :lol

$40 a month isn't bad though! I'm a fan of super long flex periods!

I thought about the coupon, too. Especially with the TBD. But I know I have plenty of other stuff to use future coupons on, though. LOL.

Yeah, I just jumped on Maria Hill from HT because she was the "exclusive" figure, who's still 100% available with no signs of slowing! :lol I also did the same for Leia. Granted, Hot Toys are definitely easier to not stress about going out of stock before they're coupon eligible. It's pretty much October, so I don't think this guy will be coupon eligible until December, unless I'm mistaken. I may prefer to have taken a chunk out of him with smaller flex payments over waiting to save $20.

I know it all equals out in the end with flex payments, but smaller increments definitely make it more manageable -- especially since I think I'm going to move my Prime 1 Batman into flex payments, to help ease the blow of him and AK coming in over the same period.

Sorry if I'm being all late to the party, but was a decent time gap between HM and Skeletor planned? Or do you think they may be changing him?

Looking very cool. I'd be happy to have this in my collection and I'm not even a He-Man or statue fan. :)
