No question it is not a part 3 Jason.. But I think that is the film SSC has the license for or something. This IMO has the look of several different films.

Personally I love it...Which is strange because I usually tend to go for screen accurate. I think because Jason has changed his look over so many films that this change for the PF does not bother me at all.

I owned the original and never loved it. Even when it was first revealed on Black Friday I was very underwhelmed. I had a huge issue with the pose on the one. It was stiff and lacked any feeling of natural movement... or something I don't know. It was very... boring. I know many love it but it never had that special something. I think if the new piece looked like part 3 Jason but with the same pose and paint apps it would be the Jason sculpt to end all Jason sculpts.

Whatever it is, I am more excited for this piece then I ever was for the original. Having said that I can see how this piece could turn some people off.

I think this piece is fantastic, the pose looks cool, and the way the base and clothing have been designed is a masterpiece. Its a badass pose with him posing his Machete, its a flawless piece

I would say that if you got the other part3 Jason I understand you don`t have interest for this, but if not and you like the character then I don`t and won`t understand. I like the pose on the older better, but I don`t got the statue. I sure won`t pay those crazy aftermarket prizes. So this one is ordered.

The one thing i don`t like too much on this one is the tough man pose.

I don`t mind the strike wound on his head. He got it in the end of part4. Don`t matter, was pretty much the same as part3 Jason. Also you got the speargun, hey the speargun man. Maybe it looks too much with both speargun and the machete in both hands, but at least we got the option for the speargun:yess:
He also had the speargun in part4.

Actually the axe wound comes from the end of Part 3. Which takes him down until we see him again in part 4 where he sports the wound on his mask and in his head. I personally really like this statue a lot. If I ad to nit pick anything I would just say that his maskless face isn't very accurate. Its like a cross of part 3 and artistic liberties. I think the original part 3 has a more screen accurate look, which is why I'll display him maskless and keep this one with mask on.

Finally just got this on order.:yess: What the hell, is Jason not good enough to go in the banner?:lol you'd think they'd want an actual SS piece up there.

I'm totally pumped for this Jason. I had the original PT 3 Regular edition and after having it a month it just never grew on me, so I sold it. I really think I fell in love with the hype and not the PF. The issues that I had with the original: the colors of the clothes, the rigid pose, and I thought he looked too skinny.
The only minor issue that I have with this one is that you can't have an empty left hand when using the spear gun. Other than that I'm blown away by it.

Not happening bro. If you want the swap get the exclusive. It really makes the exclusive more desirable.

Yeah, I just asked SS via chat but the regular only gets the masked portrait. That's really not cool for a $470 statue to at least not get the unmasked head also. I could understand the harpoon hand, but not the unmasked head. Asking for more $$$ and giving us less!!!!!!

I'm not a statue collector but as a Jason fan have to say this pretty tempting. Great Pt III inspiration on it even if not strictly accurate.

Exactly. I think this totally lives up to the title - "Legend of Crystal Lake". I liked the "Terror of Crystal Lake" statue that came out a couple years ago and thought it captured the essence of Jason very well but I didn't care for the pile of bodies on the base, so I never ordered it. I had no hesitations with this PF.

that pose is ridiculous. awful.... Everything else is good but that pose :lol:lol oh man That pose :rotfl

It feels like a remake Jason pose to me for some reason, not old school Jason.

Again since this is a mish mash of Jason's and not really a true part 3 you have to remember Jason's character as a whole. And Kane Hodder made some pretty good tough guy poses when he played Jason. He made Jason a Bad Ass.

Here he is striking almost the same pose in non Jason make up. A pose he used often in the movies.

In film... Hell if he just turned a bit and had a machete it would be the same pose.

Not saying you should like it... Just explaining why I think it looks like Jason all around.

Again this can't be viewed as a true part 3 Jason... But it is Jason Voorhees through and through. However like I already said.. I can see how this interpretation could turn some off.

Have to disagree. Looks very Jasonesque to this cat!

I like thinking of this pose like this (minus the blood). He just gets done killing shelly with the machete. Bend down and picks up the spear gun (new toy for Jason) and then he hears the girl in the lake calling to shelly and he turns towards the sound.... This is the exact moment of the statue.. He then puts down the Machete and puts on the mask.

Of course I can be from anything but that is what it reminds me of.

This is to you JAWS.
The tough man pose is all right in itself. The reason why I posted and compared it to the "Hell Ride" pose is because the lean. As in "Hell Ride", Larry Bishop overdid it with the lean (does not show good on picture, but watch the scene), and thats what I end up thinking about. As I would say, you have to do the right amount of lean to look cool or you would just look foolish. If that makes any sense over the keyboard:lol

Hodder have the tough man pose and I like it, but without the lean.
Anyway Jason don`t lean like that. Straighten his back up and there is nothing at all I would pick on.

Just have to add, it`s not an overstated lean as Bishop`s, but I just keep thinking about it when I see the Jason`s pose.

A couple of things about that lean...

1. I think it looks a bit more drastic because he has a hump on his back.
2. When standing like Hodder and then looking back like this pose, I think the twist of you torso gives you a bit of that hip out / lean look.
3. Put the hump and the twist together and it looks more exaggerated.

Having said that I think if you mess with his shirt a bit and pull it out at the back you and reduce that look. As I think the SSC official pics look much better then the Monsterpalooza photos. It looks like his shirt was futzed with and his lean does not look as exaggerated at those initial photos.
