Re: New Doom PF?

Yea but still, its the proportion that isn't looking right. How is that the armored arm looks to overwhelm him chest. And of course his chest is armored. Should be the other way around.

Re: New Doom PF?

That green is on the proto too. It's deliberate.

Yeah, looks very skinny. Does have a feminine vibe about it.

The green is also on one side of G Hulks sword, attempted reflection effect.

And does it work "in real life", as an effect?
The fire reflections on Lobo's ex hands are awesome, this seems a bit of a stretch.
I'd rather see green reflections due to a proper metallic finish, not artifically painted on a matte grey armor.

Victor never really struck me as a buff dude. I'm OK with him looking kinda skinny. I peg him as more of an intellectual person, not a brute. As far as I'm concerned, Victor and Reed are 2 sides of the same coin. Neither of them are physical in nature and both succeed because of their incredible minds. Neither of them should look buff IMO.

You joking? Doom in his armor is massive. Bulkier than Iron Man, since his armor is not as sleek. And Victor is not by any mean only an intellectual. He one shotted a lion bare handed. Was a gipsy who engaged in guerrilla since young age, choked to death an enemy soldier when he was still a teenager.
He is a Darth Vader-esque figure (Vader took inspiration from Doom, actually), too bad that not the original PF, not this one and not the LSF are a proper rendition of his size.

Re: New Doom PF?

Doom is 6' 2", and 6' 7" in his armor, first result in google:
Victor von Doom (Earth-616) - Marvel Comics Database

Even kids shows do Doom more justice than Sideshow lately:

What ?...on the original PF , his armor is very bulky and a great rendition of his size.

Proportions are there, but Doom on throne doesn't strike me as imposing.
I've already stated my opinion about it, so no point in do it again just to attract the usual gang of trained monkeys. It has a good contemplative pose, but that's not how I would figure Doom in all his charismatic presence. He doesn't look as menacing as he should be, this is one instance where the character would benefit more of a very classical museum pose. Like the usual art with him standing with a chalice in hand and the other hand on his chest.
I'm no Romita fan, but he had a very cool way of posing Doom in the "Doomquest" comic, with his hands behind his back and shoulders slightly hunched, head tilted down a bit... and even like that he towered over other characters.

Works well on Hulks sword although a few did question why it was green on one side :lol

Re: New Doom PF?

Damn I'm a little less excited now after you guys brought that to my attention. Although we could maybe stuff some Kleenex down his chest or something to beef it up.

Re: New Doom PF?

I'll wait to see him in hand. I don't need my Doom to look like a brute. There are plenty of artists that drew a leaner looking Doom. Byrne was one of them and he's one of my all time favorite artists.
