I don't know about that. The war machine 2 was listed as coming out between August and September, but I got a 3-5 week arrival email a week ago.

You have to remember that WM2 is a repaint, so the mold and everything to make it already exists. The 45 is going to be using new molds etc. that have to be made.

It's another figure I need to save up for. I like the design and the battle scratches they put on it.

That's what I was thinking. Most of the promo images made the body look really wide and the head really small. Besides a few paint apps, this look almost exactly like what was in the film.

It's wide in the movie. It's still as wide. It's just on an angle that makes it look slimmer. As for the paint, lighting. That's why it looks different .

As for the question about why it's not ready. A prototype being made does not mean they have the tooling made for the production figure. The proto is usually made with a combo of sculpting with wax/clay, then a limited use rubber mold. Then cast the prts that way for a few prototypes. But to make tooling for diecast is a lot more work and time.

Then they have to produce it. Make all the parts. . Clean them up. Paint them. Assemble them. Package them. It's not quick. And they have dozens of other figures going thru all that too. Plus building other prototypes at the same time.

I'm not saying it isn't as wide. I know the suit is wider/bulkier. It's just that the promo images (to me) made it appear wider, as well as some of the shots made the helmet look smaller. Just like the promo images of the diecast MK3 made it appear to look thinner than it is.

Wow maybe the photographer got the wrong figure or something but those pictures make it look way better across every questionable area for me. The paint looks much closer to "movie accurate" and it looks like it was actually made to fit RDJ and not pre-GOTG Chris Pratt.

I actually feel the opposite way. The official pics looked perfect to me. I don't really care about the paint job but these in store pics actually make me angry. I hate the proportions. the shoulders are too thin, the arms are too small. It just looks completely off to me. I hope it's just the pose but I doubt it. It might be the angle though, the photos from higher up actually look good.

Arms are pretty spot on. With fists clenched and standing with correct posture (shoulders not slouched), your fists should be in line with your crotch-area. As for the shoulders, it might just be how they're positioned. They appear to be tilted out, creating a gap between the shoulder and chest, whereas the promo images appear to be tilted inward.

Maybe because the thrusters *are* yellow/orange???

NOooo

Hot toys woldnt go a do a thing like that would they? Just cause its that way in the movie doesnt mean the figure should be constrained by having to represent that...

No idea what's going on regards the white/blue debate, but i just checked the copy i have of AOU, and the thrusters on hand and feet in the MK45 are the same white/yellow/orange they are on every other armour.

Your'e probably right about the arms. they don't actually really bother me. I hope you are right about the shoulders. But from every straight on photo of the shoulders, to me they look horrible. And there is not any promo pics that show it from that angle, so I think that may actually be how they are. I hope there are pics with better poses or angles soon, or I might have to cancel my pre order... Wait, can I even do that?

Well even on screen the shoulders are pretty thin. No where near as bulky as any of the previous marks (besides the 42/43). It may just be their positioning that's throwing you off. And that could be due to posing or just the simple function of the figure. Some details have to be sacrificed to improve function, even if that means gappy shoulders lol

Still 2 threads? :lol

There aren't enough screen shots of this yet to do a proper comparison, but from the ones that I see it looks like HT got the design right.

It's not ultra-metallic like in the movie, but I'm glad they we're able to at least have a tinge of metallic in there

Aren't they just white throughout all the movies? I don't recall what the color actually is but it always just looks like a small white flame coming out from the thursters.

The add ons look cheap to me regardless. Can't imagine displaying the figure with them.

They do look better though if the orange is dialed back a bit.

Thrusters do look cheap at this scale. If they were LED lit that would probably be a 180 though and look awesome. :lol

Yep, I suspect they're just a Bones leftovers recycle........ kinda sucks, but I just see them as silly extras I'll never use, or I'll recast them in blue or white

Yeah, I don't like the look of thrusters... they make the Hot Toys look too 'toy' for my liking...
