Given that Disney hasn't done an extended cut for any Marvel movie (some have needed them), I have no real expectation it'll happen. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm chalking it up to an Amazon mistake at this point.

I did that before I went to see AoU the third time around, and it took me about a week to get through. Some were worse than I remember, some weren't nearly as bad. The pre-Avengers marathon was cool and doable; AoU's was a bit longer. I am dreading the one that comes before Infinity War- that's upwards of 15 movies to rewatch just for two movies.

I believe Whedon has publicly said they where doing an extended cut though. Let me see if I can find the interview...

Avengers 2 Deleted Scenes and Character Deaths Explained by Joss Whedon | Collider

Here's what I was thinking of. Though I do know the Amazon thing was pulled. There's been (I think) no public reaction form either party why. But from what I have heard it was/is true and was pulled because it came out right at theatrical release and takes away from that. You will get a small percentage of people that will hear it will be longer with multiple endings and skip the theater...and when your hoping to become one of the top box office it's ever, even a small percentage lost is bad so I would guess disney told them to pull there info or risk getting beat up by the hulk or Donald.

I was thinking that that could have been the reason why they pulled it. I mean, why risk losing viewers in the cinemas when you can get better sales out of surprising the audience with a home release extended cut? I'm just hoping you're right and that we actually get an extended cut for AOU.

It would be nice. And this would be the film to do it in. They shot nearly two seperate storys for each big scene because of all the leaks that happen.

AoU was good action with some plot holes and a story that you tend to forget much about three weeks after so I hope that CW will be better.

I can see there being some alternate cuts and extended/deleted scenes on the Blu-ray as bonus features (as with the first Avengers release), but I don't think they'll be edited into the main feature for a separate cut.

I can't remember/find the source for it, but I read an interview a few weeks ago with Joss where he said that, save for a few minutes he wishes he could've kept in, he was happy with the theatrical cut. And I know he eschews "director's cut" home releases-- the director's cut is what he releases in theaters. So if an extended cut does get released, I'm fairly certain he won't be involved with it.

Sounds like this was the case

That's a distinct and disappointing possibility.

So here are two articles about Joss's view of the final cut.

1) Joss Whedon interview: Avengers, Marvel, Titan A.E.
From what we’ve heard about this one, it sounds like you had to trim down a lot in the editing room. Was there any particular favourite scene you wish you could have saved?

Well, there was more shirtless Thor. The DVD extras are going to be enormously popular. But no, for me, it’s really a couple of little exchanges that I thought would have helped the emotionality and the clarity of the thing. The flow of it, that’s all.

We cut out an hour. And we cut 45 minutes on the first one, and I don’t regret any of that. It’s an inevitability with these things, you do too much, because what you don’t want in the editing room is too little.

2) How Age of Ultron Nearly Broke Joss Whedon -- Vulture
Whedon’s first cut of Age of Ultron came in at nearly three and a half hours; eventually, he and Feige worked together to slice the film down to 142 minutes. “There's one or two things that I'm unhappy about not having in there, but they're small,” said Whedon.

Not conclusive, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for an extended cut. What will really irk me though is if half of these extras/scenes get saved for the eventual Phase 2 boxset, like with Phase 1.

A friend of mine works for Marvel and according to her a bunch of Marvel people got to see this extended cut (parts of it unfinished) and it will be on the Blu Ray.

Are my eye fooling me? Did they actually paint this figure the way they painted the 1/4 Mark 43? *slow clap*

His arms look really weird to me though. I feel like they're too short.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS300D11 - Avengers: AoU - Iron Man Mark 45

The pink laser beam took from bandai Gandam series?

It should be tonight/today. As I said.

And it is a thick looking armor. But that was the design. I keep hearing/seeing how "sleek" the 45 is...but it's always been bigger then the other standard Mark suits (2-7). It's a great looking armor.
