Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Yeah, but that's the thing, if you're looking to cast for a 15-16 year old Peter Parker, how isn't it an origin story? Feige is mentioning how "great power/great responsibility" should come into focus and they want Spider-Man to debut as a sophomore. If that ain't the beginnings of Spider-Man, I don't know what is. If they're true to their word and it's not an origin, how long has he been Spider-Man? A month? Two months tops? Unless of course Peter got bit in elementary school or something when he was a tween, I dunno.

Well, I think what makes a superhero story an origin story is the explanation of how that superhero came to be. What motivated that hero to wear a costume and fight crime. How did he/she get their powers or skills to fight the crime? IMO, by skipping those elements the film is no longer an origin story, even if the character is still young. However, if they put a bunch of flashbacks to explain how/why he's Spiderman, then that would be an origin and it would make Feige a liar, imo.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Great more teenage angst, just what we need. Good lord move on man.

I wonder if they'll show him being awkward.
I wonder if they'll show him with girl problems.
I wonder if his aunt will find him acting peculiar.
I wonder if they'll show him sneaking around with everyone else left in the dark.
I wonder if they'll show him making a costume.
I wonder if we'll see him trying to balance his HS life with his new superhero one.
I wonder if future Villains will have small cameos.
I wonder.....

Bad idea. It's been done and he needs to be all grown up as Spider-MAN!< Struggling to pay rent etc. etc. etc. Casual audience members really are gonna be like wtf. Even if they come at it from a different perspective it's been DONE.

"‘young, doesn’t quite fit in’ kid before his powers, and then the fella that puts on a mask and swings around and fights bad guys and doesn’t shut up, which is something we want to play with and we’re excited about."

WTF^
Sad, i really wanted to see a Spider-MAN movie.

Sony why could you not get your @#%^ together now we have to basicly see the Ultimate Spiderman brought to screen its like watch that dam cartoon only on the big screen with sheild , avengers and all that crap. I Know people complain about wanting all the characters brought back to marvel , but if this is what becomes of that then I hope the rights to X men and Fanatastic Four never revert.

Dam them another teenage spiderman what the hell. Can they not just work with what was already created the last movie has some flaws , but that does not mean we have to completely reboot it. Look at Wolverine Origins and the much better follow up with the wolverine squeal come on not another teeange movie please.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Why are people complaining about a teenage Spidey? :rotfl I could be the very 1st time we see an actual teenage Spidey and not a 30 year old playing one.

I have read part if that run its alright, but I prefer the 616 regular story line. Still it seems like an unnecessary reboot just put out a better sequel no need to reboot it.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I think it's pretty smart, actually. RDJ's not going to be around forever, and, contrary to what Feige said before, I very much doubt that they'll simply recast the roles. He has the benefit of being in an Iron suit, most of the time, so, depending on how gracefully he ages, he could probably do it until he's 60, if he wanted to. He does all the human stuff, a stunt man does the Iron Man work, and he comes in to do all of the helmet/HUD stuff.

Point is, depending on how long they intend for this universe to last, they've secured a heavy hitter for the future of these movies. You get a 15-year old Spidey in 2016, assuming Downey played the role until he was 60, like I said, in 2025, you'd have a 24-year old Spider-Man primed and ready to lead the next generation of Avengers, which is a completely reasonable estimate, considering Feige stated they have plans until 2028 in an interview last year.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I can't wait to put together a montage of all the Uncle Ben deaths :lol

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Already confirmed its not an origin story . They said he's swinging in the suit now in New York som where

When Feige said I immediately thought that Spidey's name or a quick flash of him will be shown in up coming movies, like he's on the news or something. We could see it as early as AOU probably. Just a little snippet, maybe even of Jameson on the news talking about a wall crawling menace.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

People complaining about the age of spider-man? uh......que?

Guess I'll complain about how Iron-man sold weapons before creating suits....

Seriously though, I trust MCU. They are making Spiderman join a universe where there are plenty of characters to keep him busy. They more than likely won't have another love story for Spidey with a side of action.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

What they want to go young like Harry potter so the actor can literally grow up.

People were saying that would be able issue when they cast a younger FF4 cast but that is not this young and it's in reference to the ultimate version.

But I personally can't stand kid spiderman. When all his great stories are when he was an adult.

Ugh, maaaan.

The Infinity Wars and Thanos should be the end game. Iron Man's story arc should be coming to a close soon, followed shortly by Captain America. Go out with a nice, big, bang before 2020 and close all the stories up. It doesn't feel like world building any more. Let's be honest, after two or three MCU Spider-Man movies in the next decade, how much more could they possibly do on-screen with the character?

I remember in the 90s when none of these ****ers had movies. That James Cameron Spider-Man script was just a pipe dream, a fairy tale. Now we have got "plans" coming to fruition years in advance. I know it's where the money is, but it's beyond over kill.

Marvel they literraly want to wipe out the previous two movies so how about this since this Spider will more them likely follow the ultimate version are they going to bring back Gwen? They basicly want to nulify what occured in the previous 2 movies talk about screwed up continuity.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

It's crazy to me to think that this all started in 2008. Twenty years of continuous films is kind of nuts, and I can't help but wonder if Infinity War may not be the end. I'm not sure how much bigger they can take it.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

‘Spider-Man': New Movie Stars Teen Peter Parker | Variety

From the article ** Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Collider that the next Spider-Man will be a 15- or 16-year-old Peter Parker.
“In terms of the age of an actor we’ll eventually cast, I don’t know,” Feige admits. “In terms of the age of what we believe Peter Parker is, I’d say 15-16 is right.” **

Growing up the Amazing Spider-Man was my fav, but whether its Sony or Marvel (Kevin Feige) they seem determind to keep Spidey a teeny bopper is something I am not a fan for. It's suppose to be the Amazing Spider-Man not the poor socially lost kid continually going through puberty.
Hey Marvel let the kid finally grow up and be the Amazing Spider *Man*

edit - this looks far more interesting then bringing Gwen back from the dead

I know, 2028! Important people in my life could be dead by then. I know that's a rather depressing thing to say but *insert Jeff Goldblum well there it is GIF*

I guess I'm fine with these movies going on and on but only if they are sure to provide satisfying resolution for various conflicts. 2014 was a good year for the MCU with both Alexander Pierce and Ronan being taken out and not "I'll get you next time [or more accurately next year] heroes!" Movies can end with a little tease for the next one if they want these guys to be James Bond superheroes who never go away, just make sure they aren't fighting the same bad guys (coughLokicough) in some never ending struggle.
