I sense that this could be a slippery slope. As I first restricted myself to only Iron Man, then to also Batman Hot Toys, now all Marvel And DC Hot Toys, and then PF, then to any 1/4 statues, with the ocassional bust, now to Optimus (what's the scale anyway?)

Hell, who am I kidding I'm going downhill fast.

If it turns up good, then I'll probably get a few of their Busts/statues like the Ironhide etc.

Don't worry mate. You are not the only one. And hanging around in this forum is not the best idea too hahahahaha. It will just tempt you more

Yeah im in the same boat, I preorderd from popcultcha but im hesitating....I love it its just a lot of money,

***Could anyone that has theirs clarify if they think theres too many plastic bits on it?****

I think most of the chrome color are probably all plastics. The round big chrome stuff on his back is plastic for sure.

Like I posted on the Megatron page, thought share it on the optimus page, since he will be along side Megatron

I managed to get a carpenter to build me a custom display shelf for Optimus Prime and Megatron. I wanted the display shelf before investing in a Megatron, or an Optimus. With the base being 25 inches, I requested 26 inches in depth, 55 inches across for the shelf, so it gives both transformers the room needed. DAMN when he built it weighed a ton when bringing it in, something needed to take the weight which both Prime 1 pieces should be great on there

pics of the shelf

I know it is not perfect display shelf, but its almost impossible to find a right display shelf of 25 inches in depth, and it needs 26 inches. I am very happy with this, gives the room needed for my tumbler in the middle of the room

Good solid surface for these bad boys. Haven't decided how I am going to display optimus yet, probably on a small stand alone unit or table as I am only getting optimus

I don't have a problem with 'plastic' in collectibles, but the price should reflect it.

Agree, price should be less like bee, I think they realize the prime has too many es and price are too high so they changed on bee and the following character.

There is a lot plastic on this piece since the part are too small and detail.

As I said, I would be a kit like FiveStarStories and way to fragile to be delivered even partially assembled.

Next Optimus is more compact than the DOTM version.

Guys take a look at this!! It's just beautiful and will come with matching Megatron version too :)

I like the custom base, but aren't there notches or pegs underneath Prime's feet to help secure it to the stock base? I hate to think that it could topple over especially for such a fragile and expensive piece.

Hi guys, I got my OP about 2 weeks ago. Just finally had the time to open him up. I don't have anywhere to display him yet so he needs to stay packed away. I open and assemble all my statues to check for damage before I put them in storage. When I opened the box there was more pieces then I expected and it was so nicely padded and protected I thought if I assembled him I wouldn't be able to put him back in the box correctly. Now I'm thinking, what if I go to display him 6 months to a year from now and he's damaged. Due to the situation, I think unfortunately I may have to part with him because it's to expensive to take that gamble.

Are you not going to have to check it for damage anyway if you are going to sell it? So if you don't find any you may as well keep it.

How right you are. A very good point. I think this statue will increase in value in the next couple of years especially the exclusive. So if everything turns out fine during inspection i'd say to just keep it for a while before letting it go.

Not so sure the exclusive will be that popular.Sure the sideshow one had the blades which increased the value on the Ex,but you have everything you need with this.Megatron's Gun was only seen in the end scene when killing Sentinel and i wouldn't pay hundreds of dollars more for just that.
However,i would have loved a ex item like Megatron's ripped off head with the axe in it.THAT is worth paying the extra dollars for.

Moreover, the Megatron's gun is not in the left hand as it should have been to be screen accurate ...

I have this piece on flex, and it is a definitive version of Optimus..... I think that for the price the ES is too high ( unless they sell this bad boy out!)
