I think if you superimposed the two images over each other they'd mach up almost exactly.

Who cares? As long as it's accurate to the film and it looks as good in person, I don't care where HT got the head from. They probably did base it on the Palisades figure, but it still isn't identical. Anyway, it's not really a big deal.

Like I said, you can't sculpt a facehugger victim to look radically different from that.

Good lord, I come back to find that HT has stolen a headsculpt from Palisades! That's it! I'm OUT!

:)

I'm hoping the final HT version looks better than that over-stylized Palisades sculpt. As long as they keep the melted visor that way, it'll be cool -- you won't see much in there anyway in hand.

It's either a temp, hopefully (for proto prod pics)

or maybe HT licensed it out for repro, hope not.

Wow, that is really strange that the only good headsculpt shown is from a palisades piece. Granted the paint work looks nicer, but that is clearly the same headsculpt... look at the detail of the hair, all the pieces match-up.

Could be they got the rights to reuse it from Palisades, and honestly if it looks that good I'll be fine with it. But, that does make me a bit weary about the other headsculpts if the only one being shown is from another company.

But just to be clear again, I'm still very excited about these figures, and since I only want Kane and plan to display him w/facehugger head I'm still A-okay!

I doubt it'll hit $170-$180. As I've said Wolf was also priced at HK$980 and he came out to be US$150 from Sideshow and US$134.99 from other retailers. The retailers in Taiwan have stated an April release so Sideshow should start their preorders soon. :monkey5

Get your eyes checked. You'd make a lousy detective.

This is to kl241.

Is everything ok with you mate? I have looked through some of your previous posts and your collection and you appear to be a dedicated collector and up to now have been friendly and polite.

However in the last few days you have defiently gone down a different path, to the point that some of your posts have been borderline rude. It is hard to build up respect on internet forums, but easy to destroy.

Show disrespect and rudeness, and it won't take much to make everyone jump down your throat. While it is good to voice an opinion, remember we try not to take things too seriously here. After all it is a toy/hobby forum, filled with people from all over the world sharing a similar pastime/passion.

I am always one to overlook moments of madness, if the person responsible can be more understanding of others and overall show respect. Also remember that what goes around comes around. :peace

Enough of my rant, now it's time for a group hug!
:grouphug

Well from my perspective, for what it's worth they look pretty damn close to me, and my money would be on it being the exact same sculpt.
Possibly recast and maybe 'slightly' retooled. But the details in the hair are too close not to be some kind of copy.

Are these forums supposed to serve as nothing more than a place for people to talk about how wonderful every upcoming release is? I don't see why expressing a little disappointment should be met with that kind of remark, and frankly I would hope that if manufacturers do visit sites like this, it's not to get their egos stroked, but rather to find out what the fans actually want, so they can improve their products.

As I've said many times before, the forum is a good place for constructive criticism. But as someone who is incredibly psyched about these figures it's a bit depressing to keep reading - "HT's dropping the ball on this" or "They should have done it completely different".

And if these posts depress me - imagine how the manufacturer, who has busted their butts to deliver an awesome looking piece to a fan community that has been clamboring for this product for years, might feel on seeing these comments?

We're supposed to censor our opinions because they might make the manufacturer feel depressed? I think the majority of opinions in this thread have been very positive, by the way (including my own -- I'm excited about the figures too).

I know what you mean, I said in a couple of places, this is like any other figure release, there's always gonna be some little area you want your 'pet' figure to be better.
But at the end of the day these are figures I have wanted since I can remember and a few short years ago I would NEVER have thought we would see, but here they are and the detail is simply outstanding, light up features, cool bases and under all that is the True-Type, so it's got so much going for it.
I dearly hope these come with a good facial likeness, but I'd buy them even if they came with a blank face.

Did Dave say anything about censoring your opinions? I must have missed that. He's only making an observation about some of the 'opinions' in the thread, and making a very valid point in the process. I feel bad for ol' Dave... As the board mod it must be difficult to weigh in (no matter how innocently) on things like this without someone yelling "censorship!". I share some of Dave's feelings, but by saying so I certainly don't think I'm telling anyone else what they should say or feel.

Andy is supporting censorship!!! :lol

Really I think, more than anything tact is what is being asked for... although I do think in this thread the reaction has been pretty positive, but just some surprise over the rubber suit.
