Unfortunately Asmus will never be able to top this. :aragorn :clap

True... Asmus won't be able to top ACI making Aragorn look so pretty. :p
Went back to look again at Asmus' latest sculpt, and I'm tellin' ya - it's pretty darn good. There are several scenes from the films where this visage/expression can be seen - usually during some conversation.
ACI's just looks a bit thin and the eyes are too... "sultry" for lack of a better word. It's like LOTR fashion has hit the runways. LoL

Asmus is giving us a chance to tell them how to improve this Aragorn. I say let's take them up on it, especially if you don't like it.

Why the heck wouldn't you want a better Aragorn?

Wow, I post a negative opinion concerning the likeness of Asmus' sculpt compared to ACI's, and it gets deleted by a trigger-happy Mod? But "Barbie Academy" is allowed to stand ? So much for honest, equal, open discussion. :lol

Its a bit of humor, a jest in defense of asmus. Your comment came across serious and a bit harsh. Anyway i think barbie is HOT ;-)

Come on. Take a look at Asmus' new GTG sculpt's likeness and then this one.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you called it excrement so I can see why it would be deleted. Just saying. :peace

The GTG sculpt is excellent! The Viggo likeness is just not there in the Aragorn sculpt, IMO .
The pics I see of the ACI figure, when the hair is tamed down, clearly show a superior likeness.

I was one of the biggest cheerleaders for Asmus. Comparing the 2 sculpts as of now you are 100% correct in that the ACI one is better. That is all fine and dandy. Now to say it is a piece of poop is entirely another thing. That's what you and a couple others are not, or refuse to grasp. Constructive criticism goes much farther than saying something is a piece of poop don't you agree? I posted a little diatribe the other day about Asmus but deleted it because I thought it was too harsh and it was nothing compared to what you wrote.

Ok, it was too harsh and I apologize. Ive certainly read posts that were harsher on these boards, but that is irrelevant. I should have chosen more constructive, less inflammatory words to voice my opinion.
Honestly, my reaction was born more out of disappointment with Asmus' previous releases. Floppy body on Morgul Lord which necessitates replacement, poor elongated GTW sculpt which last I heard was being replaced when GTG is released, a Nazgul steed that can barely stand due to the legs being too close together, excessive futzing needed to make the Nazgul presentable along with reports of easily breakable armor and wrist posts ...
We're paying good money for these figures, and yes, I'm happy just to have 1:6 LOTR to buy, but I don't want to continue being disappointed by the quality.

We can be disappointed with certain things, but constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement win the day. There is another 1/6 figure manufacturer that makes some of the highest quality, most accurate figures around, and has given notice that they are gone by the end of the year because of constant complaints.

I actually think the Viggo likeness is getting close, but that spot right in the middle where the bridge of his nose meets his brow is throwing it all off for me. It's kind of flat and triangular when it ought to be more narrow and contoured. If they can fix that (and maybe go with a slightly less speckled paint job) I think he'd look pretty great. (And maybe a different hair sculpt.) The pictures from other angles (the ones that aren't straight on) were pretty good, in my opinion.

And if they can get the outfit looking as good as ACI's, then this could be a serious winner.

What we need are some side-by-side photoshops to help illustrate where we think they could improve. A picture's worth a thousand words and Asmus seems to appreciate the visuals.
