and I dont read the manga so I dont know everyone's looks, from the books I have seen everything's been in black and white... :dunno

There are a few pages that are in color

Krillin seems to be an anime/manga fusion. He has the white eyes and the dark colored gi. Cell looks to be manga since he's darker compared to the anime where he's brighter but I'm happy with the way he is now, a repaint would be pointless.

Honestly, I think Vegito is a combo of manga/anime as well. The only thing not anime about him is the shaded hair that they've done for the past Saiyans. That's a bummer, I really liked the shading in the hair. Then again, Broly only had the green tinge in his hair and not much else in terms of shading.

Tamashii does seem to cater one release a year to the Western market though. Broly last year, Super Saiyan 4 Goku this year. Edited: Maybe Nappa next year? He's from the manga though. The other two weren't.

I hope this means we're getting another Frieza soon

I'm not sure how I feel about this. There's still so many characters from the manga/anime that need to be released way before characters from the new movie. Nappa may be the "saving grace" release knowing that Tamashii does actually plan on going back and releasing those characters.

I think this would be a perfect time for Tamashii to either increase their releases more frequently or let this be a completely separate line.

yeah, release every month 2 figures and the people who struggle now to keep up will struggle some more

I dont think so, the other figuarts lines are just as good as dragonball, especially the kamen rider line which has new figures every other week!

I wouldn't mind them releasing at the rate of Kamen Rider at all. My wallet might hate me but it'll get over it. There's sooo many characters in the Dragonball universe, they might have to release more frequently if they ever plan on having a complete line. I want this line to be as big as Jakks/Irwin lines were.

Why are you going to such extremes? 2 releases a quarter would be better than what we have now and still affordable.

With a few exceptions, this line is similarly following the Super Battle Collections line. I would really like that to continue because they did have some great releases in that set...

extremely interesting...since they're acknowledging this movie I wonder if there's a better chance they'll release a Figuarts Beerus. I have a feeling SDCC is going to be incredible this year. Nappa, whatever this will turn out to be, and whatever else they have lined up...I can't wait.

Affordability in terms of releases/year is irrelevant. Whether you can pay for your hobby is individual. Some people couldn't pay for 1, in general, others could buy everything released thusfar with a credit card swipe. We're not kids ("Really!?"), Tamashii doesn't have to pay attention to current allowance rates.

However, in yet another interview (we might as well start wikipediaing this ****... I don't know how to pronounce that either) BLUEFIN said they do not wanna exorbitantly focus on one franchise, while decreasing space for others.

I think if we get an equal batch as last year, and this time an actually good sdcc ex, we probably shouldn't complain.

It'd be nice if they can keep the climb with a figure more per year, up for another year.

16, vegito, U gohan, both Buus, Nappa and an sdcc ex. That'd be pretty rad.

Then you would argue that there's no struggle?

Dragon Ball Z is Bluefin's top selling franchise. It would be no different than what Tamashii is doing with Kamen Rider. Power Rangers is currently in limbo. Sailor Moon has seen an increase in releases. I don't see where the space is decreasing for others.

I'm confused. Weren't you always advocating for more releases and focus on the Dragon Ball Z S.H. Figuarts line or am I thinking of some one else?

It's likely Bandai/Tamashii has been working on the Revival of F Figuarts stuff for the past couple months. I'm sure the prototypes might be shown around SDCC (unless there's another big Asian Toy event beforehand).

I'm guessing we might see Freiza's new form as the likely first release. With a likely chance at seeing Beerus, Goku and Vegeta. I'd like it if they at least released Frieza in his first form as well.

Honestly, it's about time Tamashii actually smartened up and paired some figure releases with a movie. American toy companies have been doing that for years...strike while the iron is HOT.

Bluefin is a distributor so remember there is a large discrepency between Bandai/Tamashii (the manufacturer and ACTUAL product developer) and Bluefin (an independent third-party company that PAYS to distribute Bandai/Tamashii product). Bluefin benefits THEMSELVES by expanding and distributing a variety of product. If they only strongly focused solely on DBZ and DBZ suddenly tanked next year, they would be in financial trouble. They try to broaden their catalog and their available products in order to maximize their own profit. Even with the large number of various product lines that Bandai/Tamashii produces, only a select few are truly successful in their distribution area of the United States, namely DBZ, Robot Damashii/Spirits, Power Rangers, and some other select Figuarts. The mega-popular Japanese favorites like Kamen Rider and Ultra Man are NOT as profitable in the USA to my best knowledge.

Bluefin, to my best knowledge, has little influence over Bandai/Tamashii's business decisions. The best I say they do is help collect sales and profitability data to report the success of certain lines to Bandai. At actual events, Bandai/Tamashii has THEIR OWN STAFF taking the polls and talking with folks (at least that's how it was at SDCC) and Bluefin was mostly handling the sales.

We all want more DBZ releases and we "sort of" are getting them (in the form of more Figuarts ZERO, Figuarts ZERO EX, Tamashii Buddies, etc.), but those decisions lie in Bandai/Tamashii HQ back in Japan, NOT with Bluefin. The best Bluefin can do is constantly report customer demand and sales figures to Bandai/Tamashii homebase in Japan and they're the ones who have the final call.

For the life of me I don' know why they didn't capitalize on BOG and release God Goku, Beerus, and Whis then. I doubt we're gonna see God Goku again so they might've missed out on a great opportunity (not that it wouldn't sell if it was released in the future).

Seeing as this banner refers to a Revival of F "project", I think we're gonna see quite a good number of figures being released for the movie. Now would be a good time to showcase Beerus and Whis as well as the new Goku and Vegeta outfits and Frieza's new form. First form Frieza would be awesome too  Throw in a Frieza re-release as well and the fans will eat it up. MASSIVE profits to be made if they do this right
