Fantastic! Re: Final Body/no face. I have seen it on the web. Someone has already done it. ;)

Thanks :)

I guessed someone had to have remembered that scene and beaten me to it. Got to say this is a fantastic figure all-round apart from the terrifying rubber joint casings.

Yeah. It is great and I think has the best likeness and articulation to date. I'm hoping the rubber holds up but I'm sure it will.

I do like your "suit only" pic if that's any consolation. Actually, great pics overall! Thanks for sharing! :). (Cue ROBOCOP Theme).

That's my personal test for if a figure's nailed it: do I hear the theme music in my head whenever I look at it?

Answer in this case is a resounding 'yes'!

Ok, Since we're on the subject of sharing, I thought I'd post mine. Sorry for the crappy pics. :)

It's behind a display case for now.

Haha! Awesome @Plastic Bateman! Guess I'm not the only one who does that. Lol!

Is... is that an actual prop glove?

Haha! Good eye! Why yes, that is the Screen Used right hand glove used in Robocop 1. I used to have a replica suit at one point. But alas, I have since sold it off. I still do have the KSC AUTO-9 and a 1:1 Weller face that I need to finish...
:)

@canadaclone. I think it's all lighting. Look at my pic and you can see different tones. Mine was a mix of natural daylight and white light. Im sure that I can make it take on more blueish tones in the proper environment.

Ok....starting to get concerned....why are there colour variations?

Much like the actual suit, it takes on different colours depending on the lighting conditions. I shot mine under a polarised daylight lamp, to get it really looking like it did on-screen you'd need some artificial blue lighting I think.

Then again, for it to truly be accurate it would have to be a metallic green-purple, the actual suit only really looked like titanium on camera.

And I thought I was a big Robocop fan - how on earth did you get your hands on part of the screen-used costume?

1:1 Weller face sounds awesome, Rob Bottin did amazing things on this film.

Haha. As you said, "You are not alone". I had the Hansing Suit which I was going to re-work but alas, I needed space as my main Goal was to finish my ESB Vader 1:1.

You are right about the suit. The real colors of the Robo 1 suit were Greenish with Purple hues as you mentioned. Keeping that in mind, camera lenses, lighting and filters had a lot to do with the final outcome of the color we see on screen. So you have the greenish/purpleish tint of the suit, the lighting which is mostly flourescent in the first film (which can be white or green) in R1 for that cold feel, and then the filters and color correction in post. Another example is the Matrix. They purposely tinted that whole movie with a green hue in the scenes "Inside" the Matrix to give the "unreal" feeling of a "digitized/computer" world. But in the scenes when they were out of the Matrix, the colors are more vivid and "real".

Yep, Rob did indeed! Hopefully, I get to display all my Robo-Goods (what's left of it) properly one day. :)

I'm sure you guys know ROBOCOP's suit design was inspired by "GAVAN" right?

Haven't seen anybody leave the face out to recreate the empty body from the OCP lobby in Robocop 2 yet...

Final verdict?

No QC problems, everything perfect so far. Haven't picked up the batteries for the figure yet, so I haven't been able to test the sound function but all the joints work perfectly, everything's nice and tight and the paint finish is flawless. Bit of a dust magnet, though. Will try and set up a proper lightbox at some point and take some better pictures.

Fantastic pics! :clap And that gif. :lol

Nice!

Congrats Bateman, great pictures and I never noticed that in the lobby, cool fun fact:clap

Fantastic pics! :clap And that gif. :lol

Nice!

Thanks, guys :)

Was definitely worth the delay and hassle. I've been waiting for a figure of Robocop that does justice to the movie and Bottin's work for nearly 20 years - and it was totally worth the wait. I picked up the NECA 1/4 Robocop while I was in London for the princely sum of £20 three or four years ago, and that was an amazing figure for the price but it's finally been usurped.

Makes me wonder...Enterbay Robo is nice but I don't think you can get this level of articulation!
