Nah, Hamm was great for Batman, but he's not good for Shazam.

Have you seen any of his comedic stuff? He's really funny and the dude's charming as all hell. He might not have the right stuff for the psycho hooded New 52 Bully Batson, but, for the "big red cheese?" Hell yeah.

I'm not disputing Hamm's skills at all, he just looks too old for Shazam, frame not big enough for Shazam who is often bigger than Supes, and his face just isn't right, Shazam's expression is child-like, and Hamm's face doesn't have that.

Batman would've been a perfect fit for him, I can't see him in anything else Superhero related.

Lex Luthor :D

Well, you're in luck, because he's actually 1" taller than Cavill!:lol I don't really see "child-like" in Shazam's face. I think he has that child like innocence to him, when it comes to his character, but, as far as his looks go, he's pretty much got your standard superhero face. I think Hamm's a pretty big dude, proportionally, and it's not like he wouldn't have trainers. Honestly, I think this might be a better role for him than Batman, the more I think about it. Careerwise, I mean. He seems to fear getting typecast in those Draperesque roles, which, let's face it, Batman would've been. This would provide him a AAA big budget venue to exercise those comedic chops. I look at stuff like this and I can't help but think that he can nail that innocence that the big red cheese embodies:

Yeah, I can see that if they want to pull a Marvel Studios move, and have him mentor the youthful Green Lantern that will actually be on the team (Guy Gardner hopefully).

Reason #2 why I think Jon Hamm should play Captain Marvel: forget Batfleck, here comes Shazhamm! I didn't come up with that, by the way.

Like I said, I don't question his abilities, the dude's awesome :lol

I do see a childlike expression every time I see Shazam, sure he looks like a standard superhero but there's something about his face that has a certain obliviously fun look, the best way I can describe it is that he has the expression of a kid on a grown man's face.

The one guy I can see as a perfect physical fit for Shazam is John Cena, but he can't act (or can he?)

Or Brandon Molale:

I'm beginning to think you're Hamm himself :lol

Again, though, we're talking about expressions, not an actual face. You could see in those videos that Hamm can do that dumbfounded kid look, and while he might not be the perfect match for Ross' art that Molale is, we know the dude can act. You've got a pro wrestler and a guy who's basically been doing glorified cameos as meatheads and bodyguards for the better part of his career. Nothing against Cena, but when the defining role in his filmography is "The Marine," I'm not quite sure he's ready for a leading role. The Rock has something of a pedigree attached to his name, and he's kind of the exception, as his charisma and enthusiasm sort of balance out with his servicable acting skills.

You look at Bautista, and even he's not doing the leading roles. He knows what he's capable of and he works within the boundaries he's set for himself, and it's working beautifully. Also, I'm not Hamm. I just want to see the dude play some kind of superhero. The wasted potential is killing me.

Cena has the build for Captain Marvel, but oh god no he can't act. Hulk Hogan is an Oscar contender compared to Cena.

Wrestlers as actors is a terrble idea. Christ, if you're over the age of 12, you shouldn't know anything about wrestling anyway.
