Looks like we paid $400 plus for something that def needs a repaint and a cape replacement and to top it off its mostly pvc. ...ugh

I've been pretty okay far with everything that some folks have been concerned with but man the thing about this being PVC over Polystone is quite upsetting. Like someone mentioned, the weight of these things is what helps make it feel premium. And I don't get the explanation of the suit being tight so they needed to make the body out of PVC. If I'm not mistaken, the Comic Superman, Batman, wolverine etc are Polystone and have tight fitting cloth costumes :dunno: that's a lame excuse IMO

Polystone is just a fancy word for "resin" which is plastic. PVC is also a plastic, albeit a much lighter one. This controversy came up before with the first Boba Fett, which was also PVC. Aside from being less breakable, looks better under the suit and lighter - there is no difference in how the piece displays. It doesn't hold paint any worse than resin. It is more flexible allowing Supes to be inserted into the base easier, but polystone is also flexible and I've had to heat up a few PFs before in order to get them stretch to fit their bases. This one doesn't need heating.

Typically PVC at this scale needs a steel tooled mold which is incrementally more expensive than the typical manufacturing method for PFs. I'm not saying that's the case here, but it's a possibility. My point being that making from PVC DOESN'T make him cheaper, but much more expensive for them to produce.

The suit accents are darker than the prototype, which makes it more screen accurate. Personally I'd have preferred the other look, even if not 100% accurate.

Did some cape arranging today... I think it's starting to look pretty nice! As for what the body is made of, meh, I don't particularly care, so long as it doesn't change in shape over time. The costume is the star on this piece. Just amazing.

Okay I have spoken to William at SSC . He has confirmed that this statue is made of high quality PVC due to the Suit being made of cloth . When they made it out of poly stone the suit did not sit well on the body this is why it was made out of PVC

F That. Im not paying $400 for PVC statues

SD, since you seem to be taking requests : ) would you consider taking a pic with that lighting of the full stature from the famous angle that makes the prototype look so good? I think you know the one I mean. Thanks a lot!!

Lol... sorry... I don't have any studio lighting. Plus most every room has an aquarium in it... so lighting is really weird... hence my hallway pics :)
