Do you think there's any benefit to owning both mark 42 figures?

Originally I preordered the power pose mark 42 figure but when the diecast was put up for preorder I swapped the power pose version for that as metal just seems to appeal more to me really..., I've noticed that I can buy the power pose figure for basically half the price of the diecast version & although I'd not swap back to plastic, I have been wondering if it'd be worth while having both BUT the question still remains, would I basically just have 2 visually identical figures & thus really only have wasted a bit of cash getting a second (if that makes sense)?

I wouldn't own both as you know there will be a Mark 43 around the corner and that is essentially a Mark 42 color variant...
Unless 42 is your fav armour I wouldn't see a point

It's not my favourite suit really, I think I prefer more red in the suits, the mark 3, 4 & 7 being the ones I prefer as the red & gold combination works better, wasn't a fan of the mark 5 or 6 but don't dislike them either as all Iron Man suits are cool, I just have my preferences like everyone else. :) The mark 42 diecast figure looks superb in the pictures I've seen & it got me to wondering if there was anything unique about the diecast & power pose figures that I may be overlooking or could it simply be a case of producing 2 figures & making 1 more affordable for the masses..., I'm guessing it's the latter now!?!

It goes without saying that there will be plenty more IronMan suits to be had....
Save your cash and space for them is my advice

Thanks, there's Hot Rod, Blue Steel, the mark 43 & Hulk Buster at least to be thinking about finding a space for & hopefully all the others from the house party protocol too..., although I'm not sure if they really will make all of the suits or not, as time goes on & films become more in the mind of the past, companies tend to leave things unfinished & move onto the fresh, next project. We shall see though. :)

Seeing as you can achieve the same pose as the power pose figure with the diecast, no reason to get the PP, on top of that the paint seems better in the DC version. Bottom line is the DC version is everything you could want and leaves the PP version in the dust.

Oh they will make the suits... That new Ironman poster pretty much shows the Blue Steel and Hot Rod finished prototypes. They are color variants of silver centurion and war machine so it isn't very difficult to make.

And if you have the Diecast version of Mark 42 you have the penultimate version of that suit.

Not at all. I actually won one, I think, in a contest. Haven't received it yet but I was planning on giving that one to someone and keeping the DC for mainly space reasons.

Well I look forward to getting the diecast version then (I'm already looking forward to getting it though really) & I'll put the power pose figure out of my mind, I'm pleased to see that everyone unanonymously seems to agree. :)

That's very nice of you, I'm sure who ever you give it to will be very appreciative. :)

I guess it depends on what you do with them. You can display one with the rest of your figures, and the other one somewhere else? Problem is, if you get rid of one it would likely be the PPS and you would definitely lose money on it.

I have the PPS and actually like it quite a lot. If I got the diecast version, I would take the PPS one and put it on a shelf in my Son's room.

Are they all Hot Toys? I've got Kotobukiya's 1:6 scale figure/statue & although it's not the greatest, I doubt I'd sell it.

Yes, I have 1 PPS and the 2 Diecast, all 3 are great in their own right. I do not collect Koto.

The beauty of the PPS Mk 42 is it's both very cheap and holds an amazing flight pose you cannot achieve with the other figures.

The Diecast 42 is simply chock full of awesomeness. It looks fantastic displayed both as a 'clean' suit or the incredibly detailed battle damaged swap out parts with the best RDJ BD sculpt released to date.

You can't go wrong!

I certainly hope that this thread isn't suggesting..........TOO MUCH IRON MAN??

Clearly there is no such thing. ;)

2 diecast mark 42 figures? Do you buy exclusive & standard releases or is there a totally different mark 42 diecast figure that I've missed? :) I must admit that having the option for a clean unmarked suit & a battle damaged suit too, to display is actually appealing (as apose to just one or the other) & I hadn't considered that until just now:)
