I think the fact that your average Hot Toys figure is $80-100 more than a SSC sixth scale has to be taken into account. You are paying a premium for that level of production. That said, as their prices rise, SSC should be providing a better quality product through improved QC. As I've mentioned previously, I'm happy with the Nate I received, but that's just my personal circumstance. People have every right to be disappointed and to voice that opinion. Whether SSC take a blind bit of notice, however...

It's not that much of a price difference, Mechanic Tony Stark was only €25 more like...

I was referring to figures you might actually want ;)

I'd take the mechanic over Nate, I have both and if you add customs and VAT I paid €30 more for Nate and the same price for him as the new Thor and Loki...

I'm not saying the Mechanic is a bad figure. It's just given limited funds there are other Iron Man figures I'd rather have. I love the Uncharted games, so having a sixth scale of Drake means a lot more to me than having a non-armoured Tony Stark. Let's face it, Hot Toys are going to keep hammering the Iron Man licence, the chance of another Nate sixth scale is considerably less.

I love Uncharted way more than Iron Man too just the Mechanic looks way better and a lot cheap, yeah well I don't mind what they do with their license we still get other figures too, don't get why people cry about them milking it.

The only reason a lot of us have this Nate is there is about %0.01 chance of ever getting another.

I personally don't moan about the amount.of Iron Man product HT put out, I just choose not to buy it if that figure isn't for me. I have a mark 4 and the new mark 42. If they went back and did a die cast mark 2, I'd get it cos I love the look of that armour and think it would look great in a metal finish. Id take the sculpt I.have of Nate over the one on the website, the colouring is all wrong and he looks cross eyed. The proto 'realistic' paint app doesn't do it for me, at least I think mine looks like the character of Nate in the game. A bit like the Hot Toys Indy, if you showed someone that website sculpt they wouldnt know it was supposed to be.

I didn't say "you" were moaning just a lot of people do, I agree about the sculpt, neither are perfect, the photos of the prototype at conventions looked like Seth Rogan and I can't stand that lad, pure unfunny, I was one of the lucky ones who got a good sculpt from SS.

I did toy with getting the PF Drake, but ultimately I'm happy with the 1/6 and the flexibility for posing it offers.

Yeah I'd prefer the figure cause you can pose it how you like and swap out bits and bobs plus the body and tailoring is perfect.

Not to labour the point, but if you look at SSC site Drake is $160, the Mechanic is $225 and the new Thor is $230. I know what your saying regards customs, etc, but the base price for Hot Toys figures is about 30% higher or more in general.

Ah, I see. I'm in the UK. I try to avoid buying directly from Sideshow now as with the FedEx and customs charges it tends to add 20-30% to the cost. I only bother if they have an exclusive that I want enough, like the Thor light armour. I'll probably end up paying £210 all told for it but could have got the standard version from a UK dealer for about £160.

I could only get Nate from SSC, first and last time I'll ever use them.

You should try Onesixthbruce or Collectible Kitbash, sure they would ship to Ireland and you'd definitely get stuff cheaper.

Cheaper? It's way more expensive, from my experience the UK is a rip off.
