$450..?

LOL ... Sad it would be more

Re: Hot Toys - Back to the Future - 1/6 DeLorean Time Machine !!

If Iron Man Igor is up for $500 then this has got to be at least $650 with all the details added inside the vehicle.

Over $700 is pushing it though and I would have to pass if it's going to be much over that price point.

Re: Hot Toys - Back to the Future - 1/6 DeLorean Time Machine !!

I don't care what the cost is I am buying it regardless! This will be my first and most likely my only Hot Toys Vehicle purchase. This car is too iconic for me not to have!!! I just hope the flux capacitor lights up & pulses like it does in the movie.

Exactly how I feel, its definitely one of the movies when I was a wee lad that i watched over and over again. And the flux does light up and pulse...I dont know if it does it exactly like the movie but it lights up. Im wondering if in the production (if there is one)version will have the time logs light up.

The tumbler was $450.00 so inflation plus extra detail and interior lights equals $600.00.

Re: Hot Toys - Back to the Future - 1/6 DeLorean Time Machine !!

Anyone who thinks this will cost less than 799 is not thinking straight. A simple figure release from ht is going at 250 these days. Branding , packaging and actual product of this size will easily be 799. I think H.T would love to price it even higher but i think beyond this price it will to some extent affect sales. But if they add more features to what they have already shown, i think it will jump straight to 999 or so...

Re: Hot Toys - Back to the Future - 1/6 DeLorean Time Machine !!

If if has features that basically allow you to switch back and forth between part 1 and part 2, I could see around 899, but for just part 1, I think 699 is reasonable. Either way, it will be on my shelf.

As much as I love the Delorean there's no way id pay 899 for what is essentially a large plastic model car swap out parts or not. I'd pay 699 but not 899.

Re: Hot Toys - Back to the Future - 1/6 DeLorean Time Machine !!

Its younger, larger fanbase will save the DeLorean from the same sort of development hell limbo that has swallowed up the 66 Batmobile. More people are willing to drop $600+ for the former rather than the latter.
Its Batman related plus one of the most iconic tv vehicles of all time. The 66 Batmobile will sell easily. I still wouldn't be surprised to see a slight boost in sales of the 66 Batman and Robin after the Batmobile is announced since I think a lot of people want all three.

I watched the show in syndication growing up, but I don't think it has the same fan following as the DeLorean Time Machine. I'm guessing there are a lot more 40- and 50-year-olds willing to shell out several hundred dollars for this than 50-and 60-year-olds for the Batmobile.

Re: Hot Toys - Back to the Future - 1/6 DeLorean Time Machine !!

And the Delorean stands on its own better, you don't need a figure to go in it but with the Batmobiles open canopy you need both Batman and Robin to go with it, which pushes the total price up quite a bit.

There are other decent versions of the DeLorean available that are pretty nicely detailed but not 1/6th. I doubt many people who are willing to pay the price of the Hot Toys DeLorean are interested in just it and no figures.

Re: Hot Toys - Back to the Future - 1/6 DeLorean Time Machine !!

If you're getting one, you almost have to get the other. It's not like you're getting a 1/18 DeLorean and there aren't any figures to go along with it (as far as I know).

No I realize that. That's why I said if a person wanted just the DeLorean there are a number of options available that are pretty nice and don't cost near what the Hot Toys version will. I know for instance that I've eyed a couple made by Sunstar and Welly. Granted they aren't quite as detailed as the Hot Toys one will be and as far as I'm aware most don't have lights and whatnot but they aren't bad. As far as I'm aware the Hot Toys Marty is the first figure made from the film. I always wanted figures from the trilogy when I was a kid and always looked but never found any.

Unfortunately, the Sunstar and Welly stuff is crap. My brother has the Sunstar BTTF II, one of the wheels - which are supposed to rotate for flight mode - broke much too easily.

Ah that sucks. I have the Sunstar (I think that's who makes it at least) gold DeLorean. It isn't bad for what it is, the only problem on mine is that the driver side door doesn't stay up. I always sort of wanted the Sunstar version of the DeLorean from Back to the Future Part III that was the rail tracks version without tires and stuff.

Re: Hot Toys - Back to the Future - 1/6 DeLorean Time Machine !!

I say it will be 700. 650 the lowest... not including the shipping. How much does it weigh?

Re: Hot Toys - Back to the Future - 1/6 DeLorean Time Machine !!

That a plug adapter underneath? (front passenger tire?)
