I think that, it was either made this way, or not made at all.

this movie was almost cancelled right? I think it was a miracle it even came out.

This movie and it's sequels will last long in the memories of the kids who are watching them now. Same as the Star Wars Prequels, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Transformers. In all honesty, TMNT, Jem, He-Man, Power Rangers and Transformers were never great cartoons, or movies....but they still entertain. These movies won't win Oscars but they will sell merchandise.

In regards to franchises that are close to my heart, in this case TMNT, I'd much rather have a well made film that will last long in the memory than for it to make loads of money. Money is only important to the studios, it's not like we get any of it. Transformers was #1, doesn't mean it's a great film. I'm sure Transformers fans would rather have a decent film and for it to make half the money.

My point was...the Rotten Tomatoes Score means **** all. That's it. The movie was made. It's a modest hit. We are getting a sequel. Sorry if it wasn't your cup of tea. That's all. Tossing the RT Score in the thread isn't doing anything. We've beat that horse enough haven't we? lol

That said, I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than 19%.

if you show any kid those cartoons you mentioned today, they will probably say they suck. Yeah some kids might like it but in today's generation of CGI and Disney crap, they probably wouldn't have any love for these.

:goodpost:

Much like I was watching all those instead of whatever the hell my parents watched growing up. It's a different generation. (but my son has seen the odd 80's TMNT. He prefers the Nick version) :dunno

This movie was not made for US. We got ours already. I just happen to enjoy both (in different ways). :lecture

They probably couldn't pull themselves out of their phone long enough to pay attention anyway

I went and saw Mortal Kombat 3 times in the movie theaters when that came out. I Loved it!
The Critics Hated it though lol
Also, Van Dammes Street Fighter is another guilty pleasure of mine. :)
The Critics really Hated that one as well as the fans of the Anime Movie.
Not afraid to say i enjoyed those.

Yeah it's definitely better than 19%

Yea lately people have been doing this new thing where if it's not marvel then it sucks. Being a huge marvel fan I'm annoyed by how much people act like every marvel film is pure perfection and put down other characters or movies that aren't part of marvel. People seem to forget that Thor movies are terrible and iron man had 1 good movie. Tws was a good movie but no masterpiece like so many people claimed it to be. But whatever.

Ha Ha! I agree with you on Iron Man (1 good film) and Thor (neither film is very good) but I LOVE TWS and it is the masterpiece people are making out to be ;) (only seen it once though). I thought TMNT was more enjoyable then Thor 2 and way better then IM3 :)

Not sure about people not loving this because it's not marvel. But I thought it was a good film for what it was. I also enjoyed GotG but I don't get the love that was heaped upon it. It was OK but nothing special. .

Sitting at 19% again.. :lol

Sitting at #1 again. :lol

:dunno

Neither of these mean anything when it comes to the quality of a picture. Plenty of movies have been #1 that suck and plenty of films have been critically banned only to be appreciated later (not saying this will but you get my point). Look at John Carpenter's The Thing... Hated by critics and bombed at the box office and now it's considered an all time classic (Not saying this film will ever be considered that :) )

Somewhat sad but true :)

Why do people care so much about rotten tomatoes anyway? Are there reviews that important to movies now?

Rotten Tomatoes doesn't really review films. They compile all the reviews by film critics, magazine, newspapers, websites...etc. And the percentages show how many of those reviews were positive or negative. So if a film has a 19% on RT, that means 19% of critics gave it a positive review. The highest rating is 100% approval, but few films get that.
