1) SS has little to no QC put in place at the factories
2) SS does not check the QC on the statues before they ship them out from their warehouse to the customer
3) SS boxes while look good on the outside with the artwork use very cheap Styrofoam and are designed poorly to insure the statue arrives without broken parts or without scratches to the painted surface.
4) SS does not seek input from it's customer base, by the time they show us the statue the molds are already done.

Let XM grow to 20 pieces in one year with ES of 800-1500 and than ask again. :wink1:

I agree with yank. SS isn't in any danger of losing their license nor was that insinuated. XM however isnt even close to losing theirs either. If you think SS is above XM and untouchable your wrong. Bigger juggernaut companies have fallen as a result of bad customer service and a sub prime products. You can only hang your hat on the grails of old for so long. SS feels it. Even if it's just in their marvel line they feel it alright. 500 xm caps sold out while SSs cap still sits readily available. We're talking about a company with 20 years vs a company with one. Just wait till xm matures and grows. **** give them the DC license and we'll really get to see some sparks fly. It's coming. A year. Two. Three. No clue when but it's coming and if XM continues to do things the way they have been SS has plenty to worry about.

One thing I think everyone else is looking over is that OTHER COMPANIES OBSERVE XM QUALITY AND WILL READILY GIVE THEM A LICENSE! That includes DC, DISNEY for STAR WARS, etc. etc.

Can you imagine if XM ever gets the Predator / Aliens license? As detailed driven and careful they are with their products? Oh lawd.......help me......I've fallen and I can't get up...

The way I look at this is this first phase of Marvel statues is a dry test run. It seems they are following Marvel guidelines, making slammin products, keeping collectibles limited, and providing everyone with the best care of their product possible by providing the best damn packaging in the business! Other companies with major licenses will take notice and will know that XM Studios will take great pride with their licenses. Companies want to make money, but they also want to be represented well. So far, XM is doing that in spades!

Talk is cheap. SS never unveiled it for whatever reason so that's on them.

And I would hope SS makes 20x more on their product considering their edition size is 4-freaking-thousand and they have a 20 year head start in the industry. But, judging by crumby protos seen at SDCC and very poor QC on a slew of releases lately they probably won't be selling as many units as you think and that's without factoring in new competitive minnows circling in the waters.

And khrisc was the one to start the licensing chatter, get your facts straight muffin.

So who's Hansel and who's Gretyl (I hope I spelled that right) in you and Spidey's relationship? Puddin? Muffin?:dunno

Not everyone loses sight of their humble beginnings while other companies tend to get to big for their britches. Pretty sure XM would still comb through another 700 magneto statues if they released 1500 of them. Just the same they will go through the 800 they are going to make.

Besides you have no skin in the game. You've already stated on several posts that XM products are too expensive to have delivered to you Germany. Wonder if you'll be singing a different tune when they figure out their licensing in Europe (already being talked about) and your able to get these for the same price others are currently paying. What's happens when it cost you the same to get an XM statue to your doorstep as it does a SS exclusive? Would you prefer emma frost or Magneto?

Read between the words. :wink1:

I don´t sing a tune of flame with the price, just a feeling of it´s hard and not easy to get it here in germany. I thinking about to get Cap, Magneto and Wolverine. And sorry guys, but Cap is not sold out in europe. If i can pay cheaper prices i get Thor and Hawkeye with the other three, why not i never bash XM for the price. I buy SS, Hot Toys and Kotobukiya until now, so why not XM? I´m happy with Lobo/Dawg PF, 42/IP Maquette, Doom PF all next year. Buy if you like, thats all i do.

Please, who the ****** buy Emma Frost? Serious?

Maybe if we stop this talking about who kicks the other ass, it´s so boring.

:goodpost:

Please God  give me at least one year before XM gets more licenses...I need a increase my income hahaha. These guys knock it out of the park really, what most people ***** about it's their price. For me it's more than justified for what they give us, so as long as they keep the good work I'll keep writing my checks (maybe just paypal lol) to this mother****ers :)

I'm not sure XM would allow themselves to grow so big that they couldn't keep providing a high QC... They've already stated as a promise to collectors they would never produce over 1k of any statue and they would never do repaints either...

I think you do bring up a good issue though, there seems to be a lot of people willing to make excuses for Sideshows poor quality control.. You proved that by implying that SS makes so many statues it's ok their QC is not that great.. :lol

Honestly, I HOPE XM never fails the QC measuring stick. Honestly, they could easily be the best thing to happen to the hobby because they could simply force BETTER QC across the board. I really hope it happens, and I am sure we shall hear about new licenses for them very soon because there are going to be a lot of companies looking at what they are doing here, and well they are going to want to jump on the bandwagon.

Hey mate it was not me who started the talk about license..spidey mentioned it and all i said was that i never heard of that before..dont drag me into this lol

yank is just grumpy because he can't buy this right now, it will pass.

Edit: You sir are correct! Apologies.

It was Spidey who started it all! :lol

Yep... I brought up logic which you once again try to ignore by plugging your ears... Honestly, you do realize that you may be making way to much noise right now??

I'm grumpy. :lol

I'm not ignoring anything, in fact, I've addressed every statement hurled my way and then some. Not sure what you think I'm ignoring but please, by all means, clue me in. What noise are you referring to? :dunno

This all is certainly a wake up call to SS, the sleeping dragon. If they continue with their current qc, marketing strategy. No doubt slowly customers are turning to XM or GG or other new statues companies. No company will stay no 1 forever, sooner or later someone will replace or give you serious pressure :)

People focus on the QC issues, and then seem to forget that though yes there are certain pieces that are QC nightmares (Apocalypse, JSc Spiderman Com, ALL the Xmen women...lol) there are dozens of statues that have just you run of the mill QC issues that you get when you ship products overseas. The DC line has been incredibly solid as have MOST of SSC Marvel pieces. It is easy to lose sight of the good when they screw up Apoc and Spiderman, BUT they have nailed SO many others. When I say this I mean no disrespect, but right now XM is not even close to being in a place to be the big dog. Could they be?? Yeah if they get a NA license, but until then SSC has the biggest group of collectors under their umbrella. Nly a select few will be ale to afford the cost of importing XM pieces.

Good point. But XM might be chipping away the Asian base customer from SS. At the end of day, I as collector is more happy when there's more option :).
