Spidey, I have Dr. Doom LSF coming in September. He will probably be the grail of my collection if he comes out as advertised. I sold off most of my 1/6th to start on statues. I will say, Lurtz and Berserker from LoTR will be hard to beat. Not for size (although they are big), but for sheer quality. Best live action statues I have ever seen. I need to post pictures of those two with Sauron at some point.
Gladiator will be posed next to my Hulk Maquette. He got a lot of negative feedback on here, but anyone that comes over to my house stares at him for a decent bit of time. I think he was pretty incredible (other than the eyebrows). These two will look amazing together.
 
The paint up on Hulk's shield is severely lacking compared to the pics on SS's site. Now I do know these aren't the sharpest and best pics to make a definitive statemtent like that, so I will reserve final judgement until I see great pics.

As of now though, that is really lacking, and quite honestly makes the whole statue quite dull to me. The shoulder guard isn't that far behind the shield either.

Hurry up with some better pics people....please!!!

I would love to have both if I were a rich man and had more space. The wife has allocated the spaces I can display (I have two rooms so I really can't complain). I do think the XM captain has some almost anime qualities to it. The original Sideshow Cap is one I am still trying to find at a good price.
Back to gladiator... I think the original proto skirt looked like the same material on Lurtz and Berserker. This new leather looks lighter. That is my only complaint. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make it darker, please let me know.

You think that the paint job is lacking in these pictures????



 
The couple pictures I have seen have blown me away! I hate I still have to wait 2 more days till I can stare at this beautiful beast for myself. The mixed media parts are even better looking to me on the production piece then the prototype. The belt is not perfect, but it still looks great with a little work. I love pictures, but I want to stare at the real thing already! :impatient:

lol... no it is easier to jump to assumptions...lol... we have all been guilty of it...lol. Besides after the Apocalypse and Spiderman letdown I think guys have just taken it as an assumption that SSC pieces aren't going to live up to expectations. Oh, and then there are the guys talking themselves into the position to sell or cancel all of their SSC pieces in order to buy XM statues... lol.
 
Still sad how they could not just include a COH and arm for this to be the ex, instead of making people buy both king and GH which is the same pose, nearly the same exact sculpt for double the money and double the space, not to mention double the brown shippers, plus double the shipping costs.
 
ouch shipping is $70 to Canada. I cancelled this earlier, not because I didn't want it but I had apprehensions after the Poison Ivy debacle.

I'm gonna pick this up again and I did get a $20 gift certificate from Sideshow at the booth, but the shipping cost is nearly triple from what I use to pay last year.
