You guys take too long.

I can't for the life of me figure out why Sideshow would make the "lips" portion of the mouth look like separate pieces. That's even more odd than the shorter height.

It does strike me as similar looking to the Medicom figure in terms of the finish... which I would have been happy with had it been the right height. No regrets on the Tamashii purchase and I still think I'll add this to my collection, but I do hope there is a weathered option as opposed to this primarily clean one.

And hope Sideshow isn't shy about reuse and get's on a 4-Lom before too long.

Crawford has a good shot of this figure in his coverage...
I'm liking the look of it a lot, especially the finish. I was afraid it was going to end up as another too-shiny, "ceremonial scene" look, but the slightly dull look works. It could be interesting if Sideshow took a cue with how they've been deco'ing the clones with subtle shading, layering and washes...if that approach was taken with 3PO, we could have a version that looked appropriately 'worn" like he appeared in most of ANH and ROTJ. Might be something we see the more ambitious customizers try...

In any case, looking forward to the "licensor's approval" to get done so we can get this ordered...

You can't mention stuff like this without links, that's internet rule #21.2 at the very least.

That was my point.

Besides that, the previous page's comp for height check on 3PO and R2 doesn't look right to me. The signs don't line up.

We need a straight on wide shot including 3PO and R2 on the table, then just crop out the middle to bring them together and bingo!

The Photoshop work above is decent. The signs don't have to line up, more important is that the foot placement is on-plane. The big "IF" by using the signs is whether they were the same distance from each figure, which would make or break the resizing effort.

That won't be a guarantee either because we don't have any verification they're on the same plane. We need someone at Sideshow to take another R2 and 3PO from somewhere inside their booth and put them both on a table for some shots. I'm sure there must have other copies there to show in-hand to VIPs.

And oh, I've already seen that long page of pics. :) He should really break that up onto multiple pages - his site was getting hammered earlier today and served up images as slow as molasses. I can't remember how long it took for them all to load, but I know I got a lot of other stuff done while that page sat there finishing up. ;)

How does Kotobukiya get this finish for their Threepio? I know it's not 1/6 scale and probably has no articulation but c'mon! I was really hoping Sideshow's would be more like this with a dirty wash or weathering it tarnish it up.

Seriously this has to be the most disappointing Sideshow figure since Destro.

I don't think the way 3PO has been positioned helps. He looks like John Wayne.
Feet need to come together and be bit more butler like.

Agreed. A proper 3po pose could change some opinions. I'm also not really understanding why the torso looks so long. The upper body should come closer to the hips. This looks like a Medi figure that's been stretched to a Sideshow scale (sorry if this has already been said). I'm still buying it...:lol

Wow. So much want.

Agree. Feet being apart reminds me of Hasbro 3 3/4" action figures.

If the feet comes together, that might limit choices for action pose.

Personally I thought the iconic upright standing posture defines the character.
Then again that's just my preference to how C-3PO should look on my display shelf. :D
