Sad to see they went for a rubber suit for what was a cloth suit in the game.

To be fair, though, I really didn't see it going any other way. The suit in the games never struck me as fabric, either. It was like a weird material that had the flexibility of fabric, and the consistency and texture of rubber.

Would applying Armor-all at least protect the rubber or leather?

Is rubber really that fragile? I mean, I have rubber erasers in my art supplies kit that have lasted twenty years and still look the same to me. It's not like rubber is some sort of experimental radioactive isotope.

And is it realistic to expect action figures--even high end figures like these--to look pristine forever?

There are different ways of manufacturing rubber. Some lead to more durable forms than others. HT hasn't seemed to figure it all out yet.

They would ideally last more than 2 months in pristine state unlike the new ED-209. They would also ideally last longer than the 8 years since the old ED-209 came out.
