Since the only Lego DC Superheroes related topic was from 2013, I thought this news was the perfect timing:

"Let's not blow this out of propotion!"

LEGO rolls out 'Dark Knight' Tumbler for Comic-Con

A LEGO Tumbler, the Caped Crusader's black armored vehicle of choice in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight movie trilogy, will be on display at Comic-Con this week beginning Wednesday.

Release: September 2014
Piece Count: 1,869
Price $199 - € 199

Measuring 15 inches tall and 9 inches wide, the LEGO Tumbler has an armored exterior, adjustable wings, a detailed interior (with a console screen that reads "INTIMIDATE") and oversized rubber-tread tires. It also comes with a fact sheet about the vehicle from the movies.

If you're into character mini-figures, the stars of the set are a Christian Bale-styled Batman and the Joker, the first time Heath Ledger's The Dark Knight take on the villain has appeared in LEGO form.

Looks great! Will get this, be my first LEGO purchase in a long time.

Wow, looks great. Been getting out of LEGO Superheroes but this might have to be one of those little items that I'll have to pick up.

That's phenomenal. Have they ever done a Ledger Joker minifig before now? I know they never did the Begins Batman.

Says the DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY on the name plate...maybe more to come set-wise???

So, does Joker have two faces on both sides of his head? The one's smiling at the top, and the close-up isn't.

Yeah, most lego minifigures these days have two expressions. One on the front, one on the back. You simply turn the head for either desired expression.

Like here's Gimli from Lord of the Rings,

That Lego Tumbler does nothing for me, I'm not too keen on the Joker either. He doesn't translate very well into lego minifigure form in my opinion. Batman on the other hand with the Begins deco is fantastic. I love the look of it. I haven't been getting any of the sets, but I have been collecting every Batman minifigure (movies, comics) they've done. I have them all except the white freeze one, the scuba gear version and the Encyclopedia blue electric one. I have the '89 styled suit and both Dark Knight ones so I'm going to try to find this Begins minifigure separately.

I just recently picked up the light blue 60s/70s deco off of ebay a month or so ago. It's my favorite one so far,

That's actually really awesome. The $200 price point, though...eeeeeeh. I'm not saying it's not justified, I'm not familiar enough with LEGO to say that; it's just...oof. Maybe because the last time I saw a really big Batmobile like that from LEGO, it was the UCE, and it was about 80 bucks at Toys R' Us. Of course, that was probably about 10 years ago, when their massive Batcave set was only 90 bucks.

They're really expensive now, I personally don't think the sets are worth it.

The recent tower of Orthanc from LOTR was $199 too, more value to it imo,

It had lights, more pieces and more minifigures.

Ah, nice! That's awesome! I'm not the biggest LotR guy, but that's definitely a great set. I also thought The Simpson's house had quite a lot of features for the price. For me, it's just sticker shock. The only times I'd ever see legos would be if I happened to be passing through the toy aisle, and, generally, those would be the smaller sets. Twenty bucks for a 100 piece Batmobile and Catwoman motorcycle or some jazz like that. The bigger stuff's really cool, and, honestly, I don't know what it is, but it just seems fun. The ones that caught my eye were this, the Ecto 1, Arkham Asylum, and, to a lesser extent, the Delorean. I love BTTF, but I don't think Lego's version of the Delorean did the car justice like some of the CUUSO(O?) versions that inspired it did.

I'm not really a Lego guy (way too late in the game to start collecting the bat-sets now), but man, I'd buy an '89 Furstmobile in this style.

LEGO already did the Tumbler a few years ago. I had it. I'm pretty sure the initial cost on the first one was around $50, and came with an additional Joker ice cream truck and 3 figures. I wonder why the massive jacked up price now. Maybe it will be much bigger?

I have all of the Lego Bat-sets, and they are so much fun to build. What I really want in 2014-15, is the LEGO MOVIE Batmobile.

How big was the original? I read that this one's about 15" tall and 9" wide, and it comes with 1,870 pieces.
