This is the first time I am hearing about there being multiple factories that sideshow uses overseas, it makes total sense, but I guess I never really thought about it. So BASICALLY it's a gamble on the quality of statue I get. It makes me feel like I just walked into a casino after saving for months, heading over to roulette table and saying, "700 dollars on number 25!" Then when it lands on 23 and I complain they offer me a 50 dollar credit................
:thud:

I completely understand what you're saying. Is this your first sideshow statue? Sideshow is open about how these are mass produced over seas. People should really expect error and damages. It's bound to happen when they are making and shipping hundreds of thousands of statues a year. These things are fragile. It shouldn't be an issue unless sideshow can not replace the damaged pieces. And if they can't replace them, you can always get a refund if you are unsatisfied.

If the latter of the two is you... You should probably think about another hobby, right? 4000 ES, 3999 could be perfect, but they will still hear it for the 1 ya know.

Again, I'm not trying to be a **** or offend, it's just how it is.

I got this beast today, very impressive piece, however the paint job is a let down on this piece plus there is a lot of imperfections it seems that it wasn't sanded properly. I will contact sideshow for a
replacement here are some pictures of 38

Very nice pic...does anyone have Apoc and the Colossus PF....really want to see a picture with them side by side.

If no QC issues, you'll love it.

I always get weirded out when the statues are way bigger than I anticipated, such as this one. Takes me a few days to get over it and really start to appreciate it. I am loving it more with every passing day. I honestly was thinking of returning it as I thought it was too big at first.

Same here. But I think in the end I will have to get rid of him. With the ones I pre-ordered I will have 11 SS statues. And I know I won't have the space to display all of them. I guess I will wait for the next x-men movie and sale him when his worth will be at the highest :/

Smart plan. Sorry to hear that you don't have the space brother...

Not offended at all, (I actually would prefer to have an in depth, intellectual and calm conversation about things than get mad) this is not my first sideshow statue. I have over 20 sideshow statues BUT only 3 have been directly from Sideshow. I have only been collecting for 2 1/2 years. I had a great job when I first started collecting and went crazy buying from evil-bay. Not realizing that there was this forum and other smarter, cheaper ways to buy sold out sideshow statues.
ANYWAY, the 3 statues I have gotten from Sideshow ALL had problems. Deadpool had paint imperfections but I was like, "No biggie, I can handle some paint smudges and missed lines cause it's still an awesome statue." Punisher PF was the next one, the boots where not clean cut from the mold and the gun tip was missing paint and had some kinda cloth substance glued to it. (maybe someones glove or shirt caught it while the paint was drying). It looks bad but sideshow gave me a 50 dollar credit and I was cool with that cause I love the statue. The last one I got was the Black Widow PF and she had the WORST lazy eye I have ever seen. My wife laughed when I showed it to her and sideshow sent me a replacement which was much better. Everything else that I got from ebay always had something wrong with it and I slowly got better about accepting imperfections in these statues.
I think it just comes down to the cost of the Apocalypse piece. It is the most I have ever spent on a statue and it it bothers me to see people with "the red arrows of dread," (yes I am making it a saying). If there are imperfections with the paint or cloth I can live with it, but if it is broken or cracked paint then it bothers me QC isn't more of an issue with sideshow. Especially since they use multiple factories overseas to produce the final product.
All in all, I LOVE SIDESHOW, I told myself it is the only company I will buy from, buying from everyone (bowen, xm, koto, gg) is too darn expensive, and sideshow is the best in my eyes.
In the last year alone I have given Sideshow over 2k DIRECTLY, not from secondary market, in PO's and purchases, so that tells you how much I love them. I don't make the kind of money I used to and for me to invest that kind of money I am pretty much saying statue collecting IS my one and only hobby. Sideshow deserves it, but I, in return, want a product with NO "red arrows of dread."

Kinda sound like a ****

If you drop a $600+ on a statue and are not satisfied when it arrives, by all means return it, but it would be presumptuous to suggest you need to get out of the hobby because of it.

I had an issue with the iceman comiquette and SS was great about taking it back. They were quick with their response and even paid for shipping since it was a QC issue. No biggie, problem fixed and I still love the hobby!

Matt, my Apoc Ex is coming in two weeks, I'm nervous too, but I saw this statue at SDCC and it rocks! No one wants to be the 1 in 4000 that has QC issues, but if we are, we have every right to be upset. But have faith-- if there are issues, SS will take care of it!

Not trying to sound like a (bad word), just wanted to express my opinion. Completely agree with sideshow taking care of its customers. If I could rate sideshow customer service it would be a 9 out of 10. Only because one lady on the chat line was kinda rude to me when I asked if I could pay of a payment plan when I received a bonus from work.

Breakages during shipping and blatant Q.C issues highlighted by red arrow stickers are two completely different scenarios.
These should not be boxed up and shipped to customers!

I love the 'if you're not happy send it back'. Great if you live in America but not an option for most International customers.
Yeah SS offer a refund but we are then left to chase governments for our tax back. Not an easy thing to do.

i'm happy to announce that my Apoc is blemish free...in fact i'd say it's excellent

i'm still stunned by the sheer size/presence of this piece
please forgive the crappy/quick shots...but i gotta run

Wasn't direct at you bro--I agree with your position!

What I meant is if you get super upset every time it happens and stress... Then it's almost not worth it. Almost ;)

I received #35 today and I've got to say that this is one bad @ss statue. I got one without any noticeable QC issues. This guy is big!!! I love the sculpt and the paint apps are sweet! Great mix of shiny metallic and matte finishes throughout. I could go on and on, but you can see more pics and the full review on my personal page by clicking the link in my signature. Here are some pics...

Just Qickpics since I'm gonna be packing it back up. I don't have the Angel comiquette but I do have a custom Archangel. It's a little bigger than 1:4, more like 1:3.75 or so. Not really crazy about the chainsaw hand.
