If the people buying from Sideshow directly can get replacements then Sideshow dealers should be able to get them as well. If the dealer actually wants to deal with replacements and stuff is perhaps another question entirely. I was a bit curious before how this would play out since there seems to be a pretty much 50/50 chance to get a scratched/broken/stuff missing Vader.

I was apprehensive about it and considered not getting it anyway due to the size and overall look but when I decided on buying I got my dealer to open up the box to inspect it before shipping. It had a frayed cape, so I had to wait until they got more in and now there is one with a good cape and tusks and everything on it's way.

Authorized SS dealers can get replacements too. If you get a SS piece from a local shop say, they can contact SS with your issues and pics for replacement parts. From what I understand SS has two batches of spare parts; one set aside for retail customers who buy from them directly and another for their wholesale accounts

Can u provide us with some pic bud??

Here you go.

Helmet mod with ANH dome
Replaced plastic neck chain with metal
KP02 body swap
ANH body suit

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the helmet was completely modded for removeable reveal. Only required a little bit of dremeling and switching out the neck adapter to fit on the KP02 neck plug and had to remove the rubber/silicone helmet ring on the back of the neck.

I had thought about securing the removable dome with tiny magnets but I think even adding a millimeter or two would defeat the whole point of the dome lowering mod. Maybe around the side of the crown?

I second the reveal helmet, vader looks awesome.. Pretty please with my vader now, can't get enough of it.. Haha

I got mine on wednesday and to quote my favorite movie of all time:

"-It's one GIGANTIC MO-THER-****-ER."

Box was probably twice as big as I expected and the rest...

Height modding this is definately the right way to go.

The Marmit is on the original body.

More impressed with it than I thought I would be, the cape and tunic are really nice. The loose dome for the breathing chamber setup was totally messed up though, if anybody is interested there are pictures of the horrors in the Vader breakage thread.

Sideshow was nice enough to allow me to keep my Vader head AND extra dome/mask display thingy when I asked for replacements. So when I sell this the buyer will have the option for a stock and modified dome. :)

I didn't read all the post but is there a cause for concern for his 'leather' suit to deteriorate in years to come?

I was digging through a box and found some old blades from an Asajj Ventress PF. I won't pillage my 1:6 figure to replace Vader's blade, but this might suffice if I can cut it right and remove the stock blade without incident.

If there was still any doubt as to the poverty of thought involved in deciding to use these new blades, here's what they look like next to one in 1:4 scale.
