I think doing origins of Gordon and Gotham is a brilliant idea. Something different than just seeing batman battling villains. The show will show us why Gotham became so corrupted, and origins of all the classic villains. And if it's a success the build up to Batman over many seasons could be awesome. Imagine if they get to a point where Bruce goes off to train for many years. Could be amazing. Or if they have a long detailed origins over many episodes or seasons of how all these villains came to be Like say the joker, seeing how he becomes him over a period of time. I hope they do something like that, I think it's a great concept, now we just wait and see.

I don't think we're going to see many of the batmans villains. It'll prob just be some small time crooks we never heard of created for Gordon. Well occasionally see maybe some cameos of them when they're younger. I mean penguin looks like a teenager. I think fox is the best network for this show, CW would just make it another teenager type show.

Yeah, Fox is already off to a great start keeping this from being another teenager show :lol I would have been OK with a CW show on the level of Arrow but I think the time period chosen for this show is what will kill it. And then sadly we'll never see the show we should have gotten (Gordon during Batman's time period) because they'll think nobody would watch it because this show tanked.

If they were really bold, they'd jump a good 5 years or so every season. I'd actually be OK with that. Seeing Gordon and Bruce grow into the characters they would become. But if Bruce is only like 10 now, I don't have 20 years to wait for them to get to the point where Batman Begins begins.

Every season 5 years where no major life altering events take place go by. Sounds exciting. :lol

Gotham is going to look like whatever city they film it in and not Gotham, Gordon doesn't look like Gordon, Catwoman isn't a sex dripping pile of cleavage bursting out of a leather cat suit and The Joker doesn't even exist yet.

Let's take a sex symbol men drool over the cleavage and massive *** of weekly and make her 12. Everything you like about the character gone and you're basically a pedo for even looking forward to her becoming that. Thanks Fox.

It's every cop show ever. As Dragnet would say "the names have been changed..." That's it.

Here's Alfred:

I'm betting that Jeremy Irons won't be the exception, either. Really, though, are there any bald, British, mustachioed actors who are also approaching senior citizenry and happen to be mustachioed? I've always wanted to see a comic accurate Alfred, but could never really think of anyone who's be "perfect" for it.

Sean Pertwee, eh? God he looks so much like his dad there, I can almost picture the TARDIS behind him.

Cool, Alfred actually looks a little like the original Alfred that showed up in the comics in the 1940s :)

I like the look of both of these castings. Very excited for this!!!

I don't see why. There are always contact lenses, but that doesn't even have to be it; sometimes, people can start out with good vision, which fades with age. Particularly when your job consists of writing and reading tons of reports.

It looks good. I'll watch it. Though, to be fair, even if it wasn't good, I'd still probably watch it, as it's about Batman (or his universe), for Pete's sake. With that in mind, the trailer has me worried about characterizations, a bit. I'm not sure if I like the idea of their version of Selina being tiny Total Gym Master Thief Jr. Oswald going all Revelations on Jim Gordon has me worried, too. "The streets will be filled with blood." It's kind of like, I think, DiFabio's argument about Gordon's speech at the end of TDK; it's like "who talks like that?" I'm still looking forward to it, but DC seems to have been building a reputation of sorts, at least, with Arrow, and I'd hat to see them take two steps back from their one step forward with a stinker.:lol

Logue's Bullock looks good, Gordon looks good, L'il Bwayne looks good, L'il Catwoman freaks me out because she's like a Cabbage Patch version of Pfeiffer, not enough of Pam to know, Oswald looks alright except for his crazy monologue stuff, and, though I didn't see much of him, I liked the Nigma in the GCPD angle from the Origins game, so I could dig that. Really, the only thing I didn't particularly care for was Momma Smith as Fish Mooney, though, I suppose that could be subject to change, if the character's well written. That being said, I'll give it a shot, and I'll stick with it, even if it doesn't quite live up to my expectations. I watched Smallville for 10 long years; "meh" payoff and all. How bad can this be?:lol

yeah if you are into CSI :lol:lol

Law and Order: Gotham should have been a better title

Don't be like that. Gotham Central was one of the best Batman books of the past 20 years and it focused almost exclusively on the GCPD.
