He probably just wants to right the damage caused by the PT. :lol

I bet Taxation of Trade Routes was not allowed to be mentioned in that room.

So R2D2 and C3PO are going to be in this movie...wouldn't they be 75 years old at this point? I guess technology never goes out of style in the galaxy far, far away.

That casting photo is even on CNET.com front page with a story, you know, the website that reviews electronic gadgets. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I bet he can't believe he's playing this character again. I recall interviews years ago with him saying he wouldn't return to Star Wars, probably thinking there'd never be a sequel trilogy anyway.

Like Solo himself I'm sure he's just in it for the money, but I care not. Just glad he's in it. Han, Chewie and the Millenium gawdamn Falcon.

Totally disagree. He's got all the $ in the world, and he's getting older i'm sure Harrison realizes he can't take it with him. He knows the significance of the role and the awesome talent that's behind these new movies. He's in it for the reunion and fun of it i say!!

Also how much anyone of you wanna bet the first time we see SOLO in this movie it's in a cantina?

I don't know if it's possible, but I'm going to try to go into this movie spoiler free. I'm sure I will end up seeing the trailers and a few commercials, but I hope it won't go any farther than that. I'm going to try not to click on any articles about this movie for the next year and a half and go see it fresh with my kids, knowing as little as possible.

I was actually able to do that for Attack of the Clones, of course I had seen pictures of the cast , but that was it, knew nothing else.

I do admit that my hard shell against all things SW outside of the OT is beginning to crack....

I'm starting to approach this new trilogy with a sense of hope. Because if a smuggler, a scoundrel, can give SW one more chance maybe I can too....

DU nu nu, nu nu nuuu, DU nu nu, nu nu NU nu....

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I think, the one of the biggest hurdles for this new trilogy will be establishing a new credible threat and villains.

That too. He's probably nostalgic for that era of his life.

I still laugh every time I hear Porkins's name - the guy had to be lubed up and pried into the X wing cockpit and then on top of that they name him Porkins. LOL!

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I might get flack for this, but, am I the only one who isn't crazy about all the old people coming back? I hope they don't make it to fan service-y and it can't be taken seriously. And not for nothing, but I was hoping now they'd finally steer away from the old, has-been out of shape jedi. I don't know, I would like to hope that jedi are so disciplined, committed and strong n a physical and spiritual sense, that even in their older years they would be toned, powerful warriors like Qui gonn. But Luke stopped looking like a jedi master about three chins ago. Han is a smuggler so I think he'll be fine, but I hope he's into it because he can literally not put any effort into some of his modern roles.

I don't know. I just am not ready for fat Luke and Leia to be looking silly in action scenes. Just my $.02

How many here actually think most actors are doing it ONLY for the love of their craft? Please, let's not be naive!
