Lots of greatness is in this pic! Im not sure ive seen that badass artwork before. I really do hope Kotobukia make REX and RAY in figure form!
Wow Ray looks great here. Its a shame its way too big(and expensive) for me to get, would look great with my REX.

BTW heres some unpublished art Yoji made for the PeaceWalker book. Brace yourselves for the last one!

AMAZING! Thanks and repped. :duff

Inconsistent paint, like some areas will be much darker than others. Electronics not working properly. Some joints way too loose. Crooked jaw on the cockpit (mine) and the jaw does not stay completely closed (I've seen this on many REXs on Youtube, and it happened to mine)

Ah ok. Don't think I've seen the inconsistent paint issue before, but maybe I haven't paid enough attention. Which joints were too loose? I think the hips were loose on mine, but I think that was more of a design issue rather than QC, as I think all of them are like that if I'm not mistaken. You just reminded me though, I don't think I ever tested the electronics on mine...I think I should now after reading these comments lol.

If yours is indeed perfect, then it's definitely one of the odd ones out. Every single REX figure that I've heard about came with QC issues - mostly either weak joints or paint scuffs.

Mine actually had a rail gun with an uneven gap in the seam. I still have to post pictures of it, though...

I wouldn't say it's perfect, but nothing I would consider a major issue. It's been a while since I've had a play with it, but I do remember some joints seemed quite loose (somewhere around the hips, can't remember which joints), but others seemed incredibly stiff (the joints that rotate the legs outwards). I'm pretty sure these flaws were mentioned in every review I read, so I don't think it's a QC issue but more of an issue with the design itself. It doesn't seem to affect the figure though, stands up just fine. I do remember reading that a member on here had a hard time getting his Rex to stand on it's own as the legs would eventually collapse, until he rotated the joints so the were positioned the right way, and then it was fine. I didn't go over mine with a fine tooth comb but I don't recall noticing any paint issues. Never tested the electronics though.

Overall, it's a pretty complicated design and I think they done a decent job of getting it right. I think if they could have made the hips a bit sturdier and the head able to move left to right, it would've been perfect.

Rex is great but it has a learning curve all of its own when getting used to being able to cope with it. I had problems with it for a while when I first got it, and ive got over them. Infact I haven't had any problems in months. I actually like it more now than I did when I first got it which is strange for love to grow rather than diminish. But I think its totally something a metal gear fan should own (aslong as spending the money doesn't mean going without food. But if its spending money that otherwise would be spent on another collectible or two I think its worth it)

I cant wait to put Ray through its paces

Does yours hold that pose fine? Looks like it could tip over without the back leg support.

Ever since i started doing standing poses ive not had an issue with Rex's leg joints

And its not some kind of trickery, he does stand if you find his sweet spot in the poses

(these were even taken when it was windy)

But for displaying him with " piece of mind " i angle his weight ever, ever so slightly to the back so he would do a fall back slowly but i just put him against the wall and either use the back of the railgun or his backpack to keep him up. (And when i say i angle it so he would fall back, i mean i maybe just let it lean back 2-3 degrees at most and then have the railgun/backpack in contact with the wall)

It will never fall over or collapse this way due to how he is built if you do it right. Its something id encourage people to do

Thanks for the tips, and those pictures. It looks really cool in those photos. Definitely going to display mine like that, once I get a chance to display it. Seems to have more presence due to the added height.

I think it makes a world of difference, it looks like a different collectible. I was all for selling Rex in order to get Ray a few months ago until i started to be a bit hap-hazard with the poses and discovered that its just as easy to pose him standing as it is to pose him sat down. And now i want both of them side by side... or face to face... or maybe Rex suplexing Ray.

Or REX mounting RAY :naughty

:lol:lol:lol

On a serious note, I think these 2 will look EPIC on display together, and I can't wait to have them both displayed on pedestals. This pic had me super excited for Ray:

This pic shows the sheer size of this thing. I can only imagine how that must look in person! It also looks like the stand is more clear now, as opposed to that frosted clear they had before. Still looks sh-t, but better than before I guess.

I have that carbon wrapped corner pedestal for him to hang out on where he can be posed however i want. Im not posing rex with him unless i have a second one. I like the mgs version on display better. If im displaying a rex mgs4 style im making it permanent. Im going to trim off the right flipper, remove all the correct pieces whether theyre supposed to come off factory or not, changing the nose led to a dimmer flickering effect and getting rid of the spotlights altogether, and weathering the crap out of it. Ill sell all the extras on ebay, the rail gun will be worth big money i suppose.

I almost bought those this weekend and got the bobblehead instead. Very cool indeed, if i had a little extra cash id get them. Im getting a work bonus very soon if theyre still available i will buy them from you.
