Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

The 10 seconds Quicksilver was in Cap 2 was waaaaay better than that entire commercial....

Btw, love what Joss did with the visuals of his powers, not like this slow-mo crap

so, he saw how Faora moved in Man of Steel and said "let's do that?":lol

Oh man. That commercial... so... embarrassing. I think it'd be amusing for McDonalds or Wendy's or something to do one with The AOU Quicksilver. LOL.

Quicksilver had more of an after image thing going tho with gray streaks following him around but good point, didnt think of Faora :lol

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

That's one of the things I loved about Man of Steel, so, don't get me wrong, I, too, loved the way Quicksilver moved. I'm hoping we get a bit of both, honestly, as far as the slow-mo goes; it'd be kind of neat if we could get the "bullet time" for a bit of perspective, and then it just ramps up like 10 times into the pinball-esque movements.

Haha dude, as soon as I saw Faora speed blitzing in Man of Steel, my first reaction was all like holy TopHat, that could be how The Flash could move and thought it looked beautiful. It have me goosebumps actually.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Saw it last night, and I love it. I need to see it again to decide if it goes to the top of my Marvel list. I actually enjoyed Scarlett as Natasha for once. Falcon was awesome, cannot wait for this guy to go up for preorder. Winter Soldier was great, although I would have liked to see more of him and his story, and less of the Robert Redford stuff. But that's minor complaint. My only other complaint was that the first fight scene was shot with a poorly handheld shaky cam. I hate whatever hack started doing this. Fight scenes need to be have the camera pulled back and steady, otherwise all your beautiful choreography is for nothing. But other than that this was an awesome film. Cap was a badass just like he is in the comics. Great film overall.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Yeah, that shaky cam stuff has gots to go. It worked in Saving Private Ryan, and in that one Fight Club scene, but. . .nowhere else ever.

Agreed, that was one good thing about Man of Steel. . .actually, possibly the only good thing about Man of Steel.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I think the shaky camera was very well used and gives a sense of chaos to the melee rather than it feeling overly choreographed.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I keep watching the freeway fight. Damn it's so well done, right as Widow gets shot, Cap comes in there's that cool move where he kicks WS into a van, then full on jumps into him with his knee first, all after they fight hand to hand with a knife versus fists. The fights were the best I've ever seen. Just brutal.

That must've been Tony Jaa under that mask in that scene.

The fact we still don't know if Falcon will be apart of The Avengers is kind of killing the excitement for me. I'd take War Machine and Falcon over Hawkeye and Black Widow any day.

The Raid:Redemption would like a word with you. Those were brutal fights, that were excellently shot. I could tell exactly what was going on. The fights in Cap were excellent, but at times the shaky cam and close shots were distracting. But again, that's my only real minor complaint in what was otherwise an excellent film.

I will take Falcon, but after WS I can't just right off Black Widow. Plus I hate Rhodey. He's useless. I will however trade Hawkeye, Widow, and Falcon for Black Panther.

Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

TWS was the first time I could stomach Black Widow, but I don't think Whedon is capable at making her as likable. I still wish Terrance Howard was Rhodey, I love Don Cheadle as an actor but he's absolutely miscast.

It's crazy, Marvel has the guts to make a movie about a talking Raccoon and Tree, but they don't have the guts to tackle Black Panther. Other than Doctor Strange, Black Panther is who waiting to see apart of the MCU.
