Hi everybody!

I'm looking for one or two stormtroopers to display with my Sideshow ROTJ Vader. What do you advise me at a decent price to match with vader. 12" Sideshow are today untouchable. Marmit is extremely rare. Medicom seems too little. I've seen that Gentle giant will re-issue for beginning of 2015 12" Solo Stormtrooper. Could it be a good choice?

Thanks!

:slap I think you need to research GG... Cause the only thing you referring to ik is a Vintage 4" Solo in Disguise Stormtrooper blown up to 12" scale with 5 poa. If your looking for realistic looking stormtrooper to fit with Vader. Better have some dough to cough up, because even Medicom ones are so-so expensive. Your best bet is just waiting in the shadows for a good deal. :monkey3

I concur, I have a full squad of Marmit sandtroopers now and I am on to the stormies, I have three at the moment and will have to get a few more before I'm done.

Ok thanks for the advices. I'm not english so i would like to be sure that i've well understood.
You mean that the 12" gentle giant has'nt a good scale compared to sideshow or marmitt?
Concerning the marmitt, is it well a kit to build?
Thanks!:)

The Gentle Giant figures are 12" versions of the vintage Kenner figures dude.. :lol

Unless you're talking about some other GG line I'm not aware of.. :huh

Yeah exactly! I'm confused, it's right it's not a figure but more a statue...
Do you thing it could be a good idea? Versus a marmitt, what does it Worth?
:wink1:

Wow…didn’t know that was in the works. Looks cool although I checked and it’s 265 bucks!! Then I looked again and saw the helmet sculpt – yuck!! Armor looks nice though.

If you’re patient you could score a Marmit for $100 to $125. Add a new body for $30 to $40 and be set. Of course you could get all crazy and add a new head sculpt, SS hands, SS gun, new bodysuit, etc. etc. It could easily run $200 in the end.

You can’t beat them thar Marmits though. :)

If i were you, i'd avoid statue/figure mixed displays. Even though they are supposed to be the same scale, they might look awkward next to each other due to sculpt, paint app and material (polystone vs. plastic).
Right now, i'd advise you to wait for a good deal on Marmit or Sideshow stormtroopers (even though the later might take much more time to show up). You could also go for an alternate ESB display with a couple snowtroopers or even choose the PT route and get a pair of DX clones (even if Vader's costume isn't quite accurate to this period).

You can use the Marmits as is. You will have to glue and cut some parts but it's not hard. I have close to zero ability and I can do it.

It will still look damn good with the original body, just with some limitations. It can hold the blaster and stuff without big problems if you are afraid of changing bodies and having to mod the armor and stuff. But a better body is a marked improvement in the posing department.

My first trooper, and third 1:6 figure so far.
They're very photogenic. Love taking pictures of these!
