I forgot to mention the most important missing MP figure at the moment--an in-scale, cartoon-accurate Megatron.

^^THIS. The awkward-looking robot mode of Megatron needs updating. There has to be someone somewhere that can recreate the cartoon look. Add-ons may not be a bad idea for the legs if there isn't another way to do it.

I saw those earlier on Kapows Twitter feed.
He's certainly looking impressive.
But this surely means we definitely need a bigger Grimlock now because I'm sure he was bigger than the rest of the Dinobots & this will just look daft if he's not out soon.

I will see what FT do but if price is reasonable I could seriously be swayed by this new 3rd party.

Wonder what else they will do past the DB's

Wow.. Snarl looks amazing so far. Just when I was losing interest in the MP line a 3rd party might save the day! Now somebody give me a Megatron that scales with MP-10!! I don't even need him to transform! I just want him in robot form to square off with prime in my display.

If GigaPower can match Fans Toys build quality then collectors will have two amazing options for Masterpiece Dinobots.

MP08's days as the best Grimlock figure are numbered because GigaPower already hinted they're doing all 5 and FT have said they'd make him if there was enough demand, which there probably will be.

I was watching the film "Rush" last night and two F1 cars that're familiar to Transformers fans can be spotted, the number #26 Ligier JS11 that G1 Mirage turns into and the six wheeled Tyrell P34 that was used ( albeit in a different color ) for G1 Dragstrip.

If FT makes a bigger and better MP Grimlock then I may have no choice but to get. I never bothered with MP Grimmy for several reasons but still wanted one.

I expect they'll milk the mold for all it's worth as it'll help pay for molds with less repaint potential.

Actually, that's the best part: The Masterpiece line has been so successful since it's reboot that Wheeljack was Smokescreen could have extensive retooling and that Wheeljack will be able to pay for the mold all by himself. Something that I suspect will continue for every other release from here on out. So every repaint or remold they do will be one of their own choosing, not something they have to do. Future's bright my friends.

According to this blog post by Snakas (Autobase Aichi) Shogo Hasui gave a short interview to Figure-oh magazine. I haven't read the article itself so just passing on some details Snakas mentioned.

- MP Wheeljack's colour scheme in vehicle mode is close to the real car, but he tried to make the robot mode's colours as close to the cartoon as possible.
- WJ's shoulder cannon can be attached to the car roof.
- WJ's Wings on the back do not require detaching when transforming.
- Thanks to Tomica (Tomy's Hot Wheels size, real vehicle base toy car series) it has become much easier to negotiate with car manufacturers. (I assume easier than when dealing with them as Takara, since Tomy has long-established connections thanks to Tomica)
- The sales of MP Lambor to Streak were excellent, and as a result, Smokescreen could have additional parts, and Wheeljack could be developed without considering re-purposing the mould.
- The first 3 real vehicle MPs were meant to be "Super Cars".

Even if you added the extra parts from the Fan Toys Dinobot to grimlock he maybe the same height but the chest seems to be still small in comparison

That Snarl is exactly what I was hoping for in terms of scale. The Dinobots were BIG--I want them represented that way. I wonder if Scoria is scaled the same or if he'll be the same size as Grimlock. If he's scaled similar to Grimlock I may have to pass on him and get the Giga Power line of Dinobots.

OMG that Snarl is huuuuuuuuuuuge! Just where in the hell am I gonna display all 5 Dinobots together at that scale!? Also Im kinda stuck,Id like to strictly stay with Has/Tak but I know it will be forever before we see the Dinobots from them IF we even see them. That said I might just have to jump on the 3P dino wagon. Now we are up to 3 different companies producing their own versions right? Havent kept track.. So if I decide to venture into this direction I have to decide which company to roll with and this is gonna be tough. And Id be surprised if we dont see another option pop up here soon. Crikey.

It's their first product. So for now all that is unknown, as is the quality of their production pieces.

Anyone can show a great prototype, but if the production pieces are beset with QC issues it's irrelevant.

Scoria is bigger and bulkier than Grimlock and will include a set of boosters to make Grimlock the same height in robot mode.

It's not a perfect solution but it'll do until FT make their own Grimlock.

MP08 is out of scale but it was made at a time when Takara weren't as focused on keeping with the original scale chart used for the G1 cartoon.

Since MP10 everything has been in scale and the 3rd parties making Masterpiece style figures have been following suit.

Here's a rundown,

Fans Toys
Have the benefit of already having a product on the market which has a better build quality than the majority of official Transformers.

Their first version of Slag is out next month which has a cartoon based color scheme. The 2nd one will have a toy based color scheme and the 3rd variant is based on the comic colors used for the MP08-X variant.

Swoop is out later this year and Snarl may be released "sooner than thought".

Sludge is proving trickier to design than the others but is in the works.

Grimlock will be made last....if there's enough demand for him.

Have shown silhouettes of all 5 Dinobots, which doesn't automatically mean they'll get to release the full set....3rd party history is littered with projects that were teased but then never happened.

The one prototype they've shown is Snarl, which looks very good, but with it being from a new company there's question marks over the quality of the final product.
