Although, elongating the face would have the effect of making it less round, it would provide the straight/vertical lines you speak of no?

I dunno, as much as I'd like to think Arnie actually has a T-800 endoskeleton under his skin I don't think he does. :D So I personally wouldn't use the endoskeleton itself as much of a guide as to Arnie's likeness. But maybe you're right, as I said I'm still not even clear myself on what I think at the moment.
...as far as i know, the endoskull was made by taking a mask from S. face & head and sculpting a skull into it to fit all details.
it was not simply drawn :)
plus i specially put those face and skull photos together.
. . .
elongating the whole image doesn't decide a problem of a fat face pushed back in the middle.

may be elongating and moving forward just its down part - from nosebridge to chin - would. i don't know how to do that thing in PS to check.

Yeah, I don't know about the the bone structure of the Endo. In those pics it looks nothing like the bone structure of Arnold. Not quite sure I understand that one. I always figured Stan Winston and Co. worked on the Endo puppets independently and remained separated from Arnold. I mean, it's not like the Endo has Arnold's teeth either.

Anyway, the more I look at this, the more I dig it. I think of all the Terminator releases thus far this one has had the best prototype (Tech Noir being second best, loved those specs/pics).

Yeah you could be right, elongating the entire picture doesn't really help. As you say maybe an isolated area though would work. You reckon from nose-bridge down. I always thought the MMS117 and 136 sculpts were too short between the nosebridge and the eyes, that's where I would have elongated on those. Could be different here.

As regards using the endo as a guide, well, I too remember Winston saying that it was modelled after Arnie's frame or something to that effect, I still wouldn't trust it completely though, not moreso than just looking at Arnie in the film. I mainly use my Arnie fan perspective to make judgements on toy likenesses of him, though I understand you differ from that in not really being an Arnie-fan so much as a T-800 fan? You're always thinking of the machine, hence the focus of a lot of your customs.

Anyway I'm off to sleep. Ridiculous hour to still be awake here in Ireland. Thank god I'm not in work early, although I'll still be ****ed tired getting up tomorrow/today.

Pipe bomb is certainly not attached to the base, you can see it is lifted up because he is standing on it, final version may change though.

I'm looking at that picture on my phone, I zoomed in pretty good. The pipe bomb looks to be attached. There's a small area on the bottom of it that is not round like the pipe bomb itself.

The DX 10 was the worst prototype for the Hot Toys Terminators by far. I remember when those went up it was like shockingly bad.

Big improvement in my eyes. I don't see HT doing it, but it looks so much better.

Not a fan of the lesser-damaged head or the body. Will wait until final release.

Ok so when is tech noir 2.0 coming... Hmmm... Waiting! ...

Re: Article: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectib

looks like elongating anything doesn't work and isn't needed.
it's something else. and first of all - smashed face center.

terminator.jpg

a toy head surely misses some material in its lower half. it's like

Persian-Cat-pet-animal-14.jpg

instead of

Beautiful+White+Cute+Cat+Pictures+%253A+Photos+%253A+Wallpapers+11.jpg

or at least it looks so on those couple of photos.
photos with glasses on are the worst, so their shape/position/angle can cause a bad effect, too.

because if you take these two images

the_terminator_remastered_11.png
up_12.jpg

and try to find face details that weren't noticed by the sculptor, it's a difficult task.
BUT it is clearly seen that the face itself is too short & round.

Showed it to my brother, (who doesn't collect), and whilst he was obviously blown away he said the head looked a little squat. As your wonderful photoshop job shows difab it certainly is.

How about a T1 Kyle Reese present time. By that I mean early 80's haha

If this guy sells well enough I predict he'll be rereleased as a DX in a couple years with a Tech Noir jacket and head thrown in. Unless HT gets distracted by Iron Mans of course...

Re: Article: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectib

maybe the shirt is reversible, one side whit the hole, other without.

Re: Article: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectib

kinda looks like a kid doing cosplay.
Yes!!! You nailed it. A perfect analogy. A kid who looks a little like Arnie, but chubbier.

But Im sure it'll look good on the final production.

I don't trust HT that much. Especially after what they did to El Wolverino. :(

Re: Article: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectib

Whats wrong with this?

Great 2 heads but wheres the cloths to go with the battle damaged arines face! If you look in the movie, he gets hit by a truck, hes jacket is ripped, and pants, and gloves. Hes too clean for the battle damage head, what you think?

Ok maybe this had been talked about, as I missed the threads.
