Biker leathers make sense for the hard-wearing he would be doing so, given a choice, he might go for those anyway but its true - its overly coincidental that in T2 and T3 they are the first thing he finds.

Everyone's so into the idea of a new endoskeleton, after the QS001 I have almost complete faith that they'll just make it up instead of giving us a headsculpt that actually matches the ones in either T1 or T2. I'd be far more excited about Reese, T1 Sarah or young John.

Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure

Honestly, I trust your measurements over my eyes and hope that didn't come across as a dig. 1:6 isn't an easy medium for things like sunglasses, so I really mean it when I say you did a nice job.
Oh not taken as a dig at all. No worries. Thanks for the compliments.

Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure

Was also rather surprised there was no NRD on this...

Matt

I believe the threshold on the NRD is $250 and above... so just under the wire.

Pre-ordered - great success! :rock $229.99 isn't bad at all (I can't believe I just said that).

You know something is wrong when we are rejoicing about a fairly bare-bones release for $230 :lol

Same. Still, I think a T1 die cast Endo is a no brainer. They even showed that weird proto a while back. I'm sure Kyle Reese is in the works as we speak.

I know one thing is for sure, I don't care if we never see another Arnold Terminator again after this. I'd take a Sarah or John.

I didn't find it as coincidental in part 2 then I did for part 3. In part 1 it was really only a leather jacket where in the sequel it was a complete leather biker uniform that looked different then the first movie. The sunglasses were also different but granted that part was the biggest wink to the first film. Part 3 almost played it like a parody of itself and at that point was extremely redundant and coincidental.

wow this looks great:impatient:

Got my PO in for $210. With combined shipping I'll get it pretty cheap.

I don't have your eye for accuracy, so I'd be happy with a made-up one, if it looks as good overall as the QS001. Obviously I'd prefer it to be movie accurate, but the details of the endoskeleton don't stick out to me the way other characters from beloved franchises might. Don't think I'd be able to resist a good Reese, but I've no interest in Sarah or John. Especially T1 Sarah. Hard to see her looking good as a 1:6 figure, given the jeans and hair.

That's what I thought, too, but I got spanked in the Marvel section for saying the same. :lol It was pointed out that Starboost, who's $270.00, doesn't have an NRD.

Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure

Cheaper than what I thought.
Still a pass.
They're going to announce a DX version of this when this one is finally on the shelves.
That one will have more BD and a peel away skin layer to reveal a diecast Endoskeleton!
2015 it'll happen.

Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure

That's why I never pay NRD's. I can cancel :D

Don't know about that. This look is when he is driving the rig. Right after that he goes to full endo. No need for a more damaged look. Unless you want to weather his clothes more.

Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure

Looks good. But the DX13 battle damaged T2 figure looks better and is still a better figure overall... And I still need to get that one in my collection! This is an easy pass for me...

Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure

Once this figure comes out, I'll definitely be looking for an extra jacket and pants to add wear and battle damage.

Yeah, and without the boots like in the theatrical/VHS release :lol

:lol Movie magic. After a day of letting this sink in, I'm definitely in for this one and am glad I have a spare TTM20 lying around to bash together a 2nd one with the 2nd head.

Is there anything more 80's than a terminator wearing loafers and Gargoyles sunglasses? Add a pink shirt, and that would pretty much summed up the 80's decade :lol

Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure

What's the "gargoyles" thing you guys are talking about? LOL

And man, I don't really see the likeness except for the shot with his sunglasses on but now after reading through this thread I'm all pumped to watch T-1 again. LOL
