I do think she will be a bit bigger, but even Sideshow seems to be making their 1/4 scale larger....just look at how much bigger Batman is!

Just wondering guys, is this digital scanning on statues a relatively new thing? What do you think the chances are that we'll see Sideshow possibly using the same methods in the future? Have to say, if the final result is as good as what we're seeing with the Black Widow likeness and attention to detail then I really hope other companies follow suit...

Sideshow's current method is just to set up a potato and throw clay and paper mache at it from across the room

It's not a new process but it still takes an artist to make it work. Chances are good Johansson was standing in a "Da Vinci pose" when the scan was done.

Gotta agree with you it looks amazing.
I am going to wait and see how well it fits in size and scale with sideshow pf's due to space constraints.
In any case this is really coming along nicely.

While GGS uses artists to develop their statues, there primary business is 3D Scanning. Along with their own products, their scans also are made available to other companies.

I know about GG being bought by a 3D printing company...is that what you were referring to?


I was assuming that GG was using digital files of the scans that were made by the filmmakers, primarilary for the film for use in cg spfx shots and/or to dispense to licensees for various products, like this.
I have a harder time wrapping my head around the idea that SJ would have done this for GG for the purpose of this statute and a few other licensed products down the line.
